Midland taps Greg Snow as new Chief of Police
MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- Midland City Leaders announced that Greg Snow has been selected to serve as the new Chief of Police; a role he's filled as interim since former chief, Seth Herman, left Midland for Lubbock in May of last year.
Snow has worked with the Midland Police Department for more than 25-years in various roles, including: patrol officer, field training officer, detective in property and white-collar crimes, and leadership positions including patrol sergeant, lieutenant in the Professional Standards Division, and most recently, Deputy Chief of the Investigative Services Bureau. He was recognized as Supervisor of the Year in both 2012 and 2015.
'Greg is celebrated for his collaborative approach, valuing input from all levels of the department and the community. He prioritizes open communication as a key component of effective leadership and is dedicated to making well-informed decisions. In response to current staffing challenges, Greg aims to optimize enforcement strategies by focusing on high-priority areas and utilizing data-driven methods for resource allocation. To enhance community trust and engagement, Greg and his team are developing programs designed to increase police visibility and launch campaigns targeting dangerous driving. Maintaining a collaborative culture within the department remains a top priority, with a focus on fostering open communication and teamwork across all ranks,' the City said of Snow's vision and future goals.
