KOTA BELUD: The body of a 46-year-old foreign man was found washed ashore at Kampung Rampayan Laut after he is believed to have fallen into the sea while fishing on Saturday morning. The victim was discovered by a member of the public at 8.55am, who immediately alerted the authorities about the incident. District police chief Supet Shahrudin Mat Husain said a police team was dispatched to the scene after receiving information on the discovery. Initial investigations suggested that the man had gone fishing near the river mouth when his boat capsized due to strong waves, causing him to fall into the sea and be swept away by the current. The body has since been sent to the Kota Belud Hospital Forensic Unit for a post-mortem, with police classifying the case as sudden death and urging witnesses to come forward with any information. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news?
