Small plane crashes in Phuket, injures 1 foreigner, 1 Thai
Two people were injured when their ultralight aircraft crashed in Thalang district of Phuket on Sunday evening. The crash happened on a road in Moo 2 village of tambon Paklok at 4.30pm. One of the injured is Thai and the other is a foreigner. They were sent to Thalang Hospital, where one was being treated for serious injuries. According to the district chief, the plane took off from Phuket Airpark in tambon Paklok at 2pm. Police said the Thai is 40-year-old flight instructor Surasak Chana. He suffered a broken ankle and head injury. The foreigner is Sergei Razukov, a 36-year-old Russian student pilot who has worked in Phuket for five years. The plane was a MX II Sprint model of Quick Silver Aircraft.

Pilot dies and one injured after aircraft crashes on Thai holiday island
Police have confirmed that the cause of the crash is under investigation. A pilot has tragically died and his Russian student injured after their light aircraft crashed on a Thai holiday island. The pair had taken off from Phuket Airpark in a UM-22 Quicksilver MX II Sprint, a plane commonly used for training flights, at around 2pm local time on Sunday. But disaster struck when the aircraft lost control over a village in the Paklok district. Locals reported hearing sparks after the blue plane clipped power lines before crashing onto a roadside, scattering debris across the street. Emergency crews were called at around 4.10pm and found Thai pilot Surasak Chana, 40, badly hurt and bleeding heavily. His pupil, Russian national Sergei Razukov, 36, was also injured, suffering head wounds. Both were rushed to Thalang Hospital. Despite doctors' efforts, Surasak died from his injuries on Monday morning, reports the Mirror. Police Colonel Nikorn Chuthong, Thalang's police chief, confirmed the crash is under investigation. He added that the Russian man, who has lived and worked in Phuket for five years, had been taking a student pilot lesson. Surasak, known to colleagues as 'Mr Oh', was the manager and instructor at Phuket Flying Club, which issued a heartfelt tribute. The club said: 'Our team would like to express our deepest condolences for the passing of Mr Oh, our airport manager and flight instructor, and wish him peace. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. The flight student on board is safe. "The team will announce the funeral arrangements once they are confirmed. The family and staff would like to thank you for all the love and support you have shown during this time.'

Both were rushed to Thalang Hospital, but Surasak sadly died from his injuries on Monday morning.
