Barrington Area Family Fest featuring day of outdoor fun, etc. being held on August 16
The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Barrington Area Family Fest from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 16 at Citizens Park, 511 N. Lake Zurich Road in Barrington. According to a news release, the event features a day of outdoor fun, giveaways, music, and more. Parking is free, and attendees are encouraged to walk or bike to this community event Offering family-friendly activities, games, giveaways, and information on valuable resources, the event will feature more than 50 booths from local businesses and community organizations, according to the release. Attendees can also enjoy food and drinks available for purchase from local vendors. There is some construction near the park entrance, but the event site remains fully accessible. The event is for all ages and will include SOUL Harbour Ranch Mini Horses from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., a Pet Parade and Contest at 2 p.m. with prizes for the Best Dressed Pets, SOUL Harbour Therapy Dogs from 2 to 3 p.m., and a live Magic Show at 2:30 p.m., according to the release. Other highlights include live DJ music, youth performances, a kids fitness demo, face painting, and visits from live Superhero characters. 'Family Fest brings the community together in a fun and meaningful way,' BACC President/CEO Suzanne Corr said. Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce hosting second annual Bourbon $ Brew Crawl on July 12
The Barrington Bourbon & Brew Crawl returns Saturday, July 12, from 1 to 5 p.m., offering an afternoon filled with flavor, music, and community fun. According to a news release, patrons are encouraged to, after the crawl, enjoy dinner at one of Barrington's restaurants. Hosted by the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce, this second annual event invites guests on a curated tasting adventure with 13 local stops, featuring 12 craft beers and 11 specialty bourbons. Tickets are $35 and include a souvenir glass and an event map. Check-in begins at Masa Modern Mexican Restaurant, 133 Park Ave. Upon arrival, participants will receive a tasting glass and event guide to begin their flavorful journey through downtown, the release said. Attendees must arrive by 4 p.m. to check in. Enjoy live music as you make your way from stop to stop, sampling unique selections and taking in the summer atmosphere. 'This event is about more than just bourbon and beer. It's about bringing the community together and showcasing the vibrant shops of our downtown,' BACC President and CEO Suzanne Corr, said. This year's Bourbon & Brew Crawl stops include: Carter Financial Group, Elite Clothes For Men, Grand Frame Inc., Long & Co. Jewelers, M. J. Miller & Co. Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce awards $4,000 in scholarships to high school students
The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce awarded $4,000 in scholarships to five high school students at its Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship Awards Luncheon on April 24. Hosted by the BACC Women's Biz Net (WBN) at Biltmore Country Club in North Barrington, the luncheon was sponsored by Barrington Bank & Trust, BMO Wealth Management, Alpine Foot Specialists, and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, according to a news release. 'The BACC Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship is an investment in the future aspirations of our local youth,' BACC President and CEO Suzanne Corr said in a statement.. 'The scholarships are available to students who will be attending universities, community colleges, vocational or trade school programs to support their future careers.' The scholarship is named after Lauren Brown, a lovely young woman who worked for the Chamber for several years and lost her battle with cancer at the age of 29, the release said. The Chamber's 2025 Scholarship Award Recipients are: Brady Anderson, Olivia Chau, Dylan DeLeon, Julia Gonzalez, and Matthew Louis. 'Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarships are funded by Chamber members through many Chamber events such as the BACC Golf Classic, our Annual Dinner and Silent Auction, and our WBN activities,' Corr said. The BACC Golf Classic will be held on Monday, August 4, at The Club at Wynstone in North Barrington. Through the years, BACC has awarded over $95,000 in scholarships to local high school students, the release said. Barrington High School seniors, as well as any student who works for a BACC business, or any student whose parent works for a BACC business, are eligible to apply for the Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship.

Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce hosting ninth annual Public Town Hall Forum on April 17.
The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) will host its Ninth Annual Public Town Hall Forum on Wednesday, April 17, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the Barrington Park District (Sullivan Room), 235 Lions Drive in Barrington. The forum will feature updates from local taxing bodies on public services impacting the Barrington area, followed by a Q&A session with participating speakers. The cost to attend the event is $15 per person, which includes coffee and pastries. 'This public town hall forum offers residents and business leaders in the Barrington Area a chance to hear first-hand vital information about how their tax dollars are being used in our communities,' BACC President Suzanne Corr said in the release. Representatives from the Barrington Area Library, Barrington Community School District 220, Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District, Barrington Hills Park District, Barrington Park District, Barrington Township, Cuba Township, Harper College, and South Barrington Park District will be invited to speak.
