Wexford native brings home first place crown at international pageant in Florida
The Miss Universal Global Final which took place at the end of July and is a week-long multi-division international pageant which includes show rounds, interviews, and evening gown segments.
This was a poignant win for the care assistant, mua and life coach who now lives in Cork, as she was crowned the first runner-up in the competition last year.
Speaking on the win, she said she was thrilled to represent Ireland on a large stage with the support of her family.
"It has been a week I will never forget – I'm proud of what I have achieved, representing my beautiful Emerald Isle on this international stage. I still can't believe it. This week has been filled with memories that I will keep forever,' she said.
She extended her thanks to everyone who supported her including her friends and family, her makeup and hair stylists, and director Suzi Hosfield.
The person with the highest votes in the competition will be awarded funding for charities of their choice. Her choices are the Endometriosis Association of Ireland and Cuanlee Refuge Cork which are two causes very close to her heart.
'Getting smears and being checked is so important. As a person that found out after having my last daughter in 2009 that I had abnormal cells, cancer was not really what I wanted to hear. But I kept going for my check ups and biopsies every few months and then finally in 2020 I found out everything is okay. So ladies book your cervical screening today, it could save your life,' she said.
