SCoR GM leads Swachh Bharat drive

General Manager of South Coast Railway (SCoR), Sandeep Mathur, participated in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign at East Point Colony, on Wednesday, reaffirming the commitment to maintain railway premises free from plastic waste, garbage, and filth. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is being observed across Indian Railways from August 1 to August 31, 2025, with the objective of fostering a culture of cleanliness among the workforce. Mr. Sandeep Mathur led the cleanliness drive at the East Point Colony, along with officers, staff, Railway Protection Force personnel, and Swachh Sewaks. During the event, the General Manager administered the Swachhta Pledge to railway officers, staff, and Swachh Sewaks, encouraging them to uphold cleanliness standards and take active roles in the Swachh Bharat Mission initiatives. Officer-on-Special Duty (OSD) of SCoRB Chandra Sekhar along with other senior officials participated in the event. Mr. Sandeep Mathur underlined the importance of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in eliminating single-use plastics, promoting scientific waste disposal, and enhancing public awareness and participation in creating a cleaner and healthier environment.

Varanasi: Swachhta Abhiyan 2025 was launched in Banaras Locomotive Works with the 'Swachhta Pledge'. BLW general manager Naresh Pal Singh administered cleanliness oath to officers and employees on Tuesday. During the campaign, all officers and employees pleged to fulfil their responsibility regarding cleanliness. Principal chief mechanical engineer Vivek Sheel administered pledge of cleanliness to officials and employees of BLW workshop. Later, all officials and employees, including the GM, clicked a picture at selfie point created for participants. The theme of Swachhata Abhiyan 2025 is 'Cleanliness is everyone's responsibility'. In the drive from Aug 1 to 15, BLW will organise different programmes aimed at creating awareness against use of plastic via PA system among railway employees, officers, their family members and public. The campaign will comprise oath, intensive cleaning campaign of railway tracks running along residential colonies, offices, canteens and workshops and tree plantation for beautification of premises. Additionally, all water treatment plants and installations, including filter plants, will undergo pre and post-filtration check for water quality, cleanliness and hygiene. There will be a campaign to clean drinking water tap area in administrative building and workshop, educating employees to ensure proper arrangement of hydrant pipes and cleanliness in workshop area and thorough inspection of all water plants in offices, colonies, hospitals and schools.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan commences at Waltair Division

The Waltair Railway Division will be observing 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' from August 1-15, 2025. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Lalit Bohra led a Prabhat Pheri with the participation of officers, staff, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, and Swachh Sewaks at the railway station here on Friday (August 1, 2025). Mr. Lalit Bohra emphasised that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aims to eliminate single-use plastic, ensure effective waste disposal, and create public awareness and participation towards a cleaner environment. The DRM administered the Swachhta Pledge to officers, staff, and the public, who pledged to uphold cleanliness and participate in these activities under the Swachh Bharat Mission. ADRM (Operations) Manoj Kumar Sahoo, ADRM (Infrastructure) E. Santharam, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer and Head of Environment-cum-Housekeeping Management Praveen Bhati, and other branch officers participated. Swachhta Pledge was also taken at Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Rayagada, Koraput, Jagdalpur, Kirandul, Araku, Simhachalam, Duvvada, Electric Loco Shed, Diesel Loco Shed, Coach Care Centre, and other units across the division. The Environment-cum-Housekeeping Management wing will conduct intensive cleanliness drives throughout the division during this period.

Swachhta Pakhwada: NTPC Ramagundam launches a fortnight-long campaign

NTPC Ramagundam and Telangana on Friday launched a fortnight-long campaign dedicated to promoting cleanliness and sustainable living. The campaign forms the crux of the 'Swachhta Pakhwada' as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aimed at fostering environmental awareness and collective efforts towards a greener future. The campaign will conclude on May 31. At a function held on the occasion at the NTPC township in Ramagundam, all the participants took the 'Swachhta Pledge' reaffirming their dedication to cleanliness and hygiene. Later, the participants took part in a 'Safai Abhiyaan' contributing to the collective efforts to keep the surroundings clean, a press release said. Later, the participants led by NTPC Executive Director (R&T) Chandan Kumar Samanta organised a 'Prabhat Pheri' from the main shopping complex to the main gate of the residential township.
