Tirumala: Renovation work of Swamy Pushkarini from July 20 onwards
States » South Tirumala, July 19 (UNI) The sacred Swami Pushkarini, located adjacent to the Tirumala Srivari Temple, will undergo renovation repair works from July 20 to August 19. As per tradition, these annual renovation works are taken up in view of the upcoming Salakatla Brahmotsavams of Sri Venkateswara Swamy which is scheduled to commence from September 24 onwards. In this context, the TTD Water Works Department has initiated steps to complete the renovation well in advance. Hence, there will be no Pushkarini Harathi during this one-month period and the devotees will also be allowed to enter Swamy Pushkarini. TTD EO takes stock of digital payment glitches at Tirumala counters
Tirumala: Responding to concerns raised over the lack of digital payment facilities at sales counters in Tirumala, TTD executive officer J Syamala Rao conducted a surprise inspection on Monday evening to assess the situation firsthand. The visit came shortly after'The Hans India'published a report titled 'TTD counters remain cash-only despite digital push,' which highlighted the difficulties faced by pilgrims due to the unavailability of UPI-based payment options. Devotees have reportedly struggled to procure items like coconuts and incense sticks, often finding it hard to tender exact cash in smaller denominations. Taking serious note of the issue, the EO inspected several locations, starting from Swami Pushkarini and extending to the Gold Dollar sales counter, agarbatti and coconut counters, and the publication stalls situated in front of the Srivari Temple. During his rounds, Syamala Rao observed that poor mobile network connectivity was the primary reason for frequent delays and failures in UPI transactions at key counters near the temple. He instructed officials to coordinate with the TTD's IT wing to address the connectivity issue at the earliest and ensure smooth digital payment services for the convenience of pilgrims. Tirumala Temple Deputy EO Lokanatham and other senior officials accompanied him during the inspection.

Festive fervour marks Hanuman Jayanti celebrations at Tirumala
Tirumala bathed in festive fervour on Thursday, as devotees celebrated 'Hanuman Jayanti' across various temples in the town. Special pujas were conducted at famous Hanuman temples, including the Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple, the temple on the northeast corner of the Swami Pushkarini and the 60-foot-tall Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy temple on the first ghat road. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) authorities organised 'Annadanam' on a grand scale, distributing 'prasadams' to the devotees. TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu presented 'silk vastrams' to the Hanuman temple in Japali Theertham, situated in the dense forests, about 5km from the town. However, the devotee turnout at Japali temple was affected with the TTD imposing restrictions on the travel of two-wheelers on the road leading to the 'theertham'.
