PMK internal feud: Notice served over hacking allegations
Chennai: The internal feud within PMK escalated as party leader
Anbumani Ramadoss
' aide P Sasikumar issued a legal notice to P Swaminaathun, principal secretary of founder S Ramadoss. Sasikumar demanded an unconditional apology and 25lakh in compensation within a week, following allegations against him of unlawful surveillance and hacking activities in Ramadoss' house.
Sasikumar said the allegations caused him severe "mental anguish and indescribable emotional trauma", and that the unverified statements across various media platforms inflicted grave and irreversible damage to him professionally as well. He threatened criminal proceedings if his demands are not met within a week.
On Tuesday, Ramadoss moved Election Commission, alleging that "R Anbumani" had ulterior motives to ruin PMK for personal gains, which was unacceptable.
In a complaint, Swaminaathun said Anbumani was "mischievous" and conducted unauthorized party meetings despite his tenure as president having expired.
Sasikumar's legal notice, dated Aug 9, was delivered to Swaminaathun through advocate K Balu, who was previously removed from his position as party legal wing president for supporting Anbumani. This action follows a police complaint filed by Swaminaathun last week, alleging that Sasikumar hacked Ramadoss's phone using a Wi-Fi modem, reportedly confirmed by a private agency. "Among your many reckless assertions is the claim that my client was involved in unlawful surveillance and hacking activities allegations that are entirely fictitious, defamatory, and devoid of any evidentiary foundation," read the notice issued by Sasikumar.
Swaminaathun had previously served as an assistant to Anbumani for several years.
