New Delhi, Aug 12 (PTI) Celcius Logistics on Tuesday announced the launch of Celcius+, a specialised logistics arm dedicated to the seamless management of the pharmaceutical supply chain. Designed to meet the sector's stringent requirements for temperature control, compliance, and real-time visibility, Celcius+ ensures medicines, vaccines, and other sensitive products are transported with maximum safety and efficiency, the company said in a statement. Initially, Celcius will invest Rs 50 crore to create a dedicated pharma fleet and support infrastructure, with a goal of achieving Rs 100 crore in annual recurring revenue (ARR) from this segment in the next 18 months, it added. Of this, Rs 35 crore will be allocated towards deploying 100 new reefer vehicles for Celcius+ along key pharmaceutical corridors across India, it said. A further Rs 10–15 crore is being earmarked to build a robust pharma courier system tailored to serve high-demand urban and semi-urban markets. To support this rapid expansion, Celcius will add 30–40 specialised team members with expertise in pharma logistics, operations, and regulatory compliance, it noted. 'Our investment in this vertical marks the beginning of a focused journey to bridge gaps in pharma distribution with tech-backed, GDP-compliant solutions. This initiative is in line with Celcius Logistics' mission to bridge cold chain gaps, reduce wastage, and enable safe, timely deliveries for life-saving products," Celcius Logistics CEO Swarup Bose said. Celcius Logistics, a cold chain-focused homegrown third-party logistics company, on Tuesday announced it had raised Rs 250 crore in a Series B funding round co-led by Eurazeo and Omnivore, with participation from existing investor IvyCap Ventures. The amount was raised through a combination of equity investment, debt financing, and secondary transactions. The debt partners include Trifecta Capital, Lighthouse Canton, BlackSoil, UCIC, and GetVantage, among others. With the funds, the company plans to expand its network to over 1,000 cities across the country and enhance its technology platform to meet the growing demand for temperature-sensitive logistics across multiple sectors. Celcius has also made inroads into pharmaceutical logistics, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of critical medical supplies nationwide. Earlier, in May 2024, the end-to-end cold chain solutions provider raised Rs 40 crore in a pre-Series B round. To date, the company has raised around Rs 390 crore to expand its cold chain network and capabilities. 'The funding comes at a pivotal time as we scale our operations and strengthen our capabilities across all verticals. We are focused on expanding our reach, deepening customer partnerships, and delivering seamless, reliable, and efficient temperature-sensitive logistics using our tech-driven cold chain solutions. The round also included a 5% secondary component, with early investors having part-sold their stake. Founded in 2020, the Mumbai-based startup connects shippers and transporters, offering end-to-end cold-chain solutions, including last-mile and hyperlocal deliveries. It has a network of more than 4,000 vehicles and 150 cold storage and distribution facilities. The company caters to clients in sectors such as ecommerce, quick commerce, pharmaceuticals, dairy, seafood, meat, hospitality and modern retail. Its clientele includes brands like Blinkit, Zepto, Zomato, Baskin Robbins, Domino's and Keventers.'We have brought in new avenues for cold chain transportation, such as part-load in railways and air cargo. We have also started hyperlocal riders. We are tracking, tracing and maintaining temperature throughout the journey and life cycle of a perishable item,' Bose aims to have 750-1,000 riders by the end of this financial year from the current 250. The startup generated revenue of about Rs 100 crore in FY24. 'We have had 2.5x year-on-year growth,' he added. It is yet to file its financial statements for FY25 with the Registrar of Companies. The startup last raised Rs 40 crore in May last year, led by IvyCap Ventures. To date, it has raised a total of Rs 390 crore. 'As climate volatility accelerates and global demand for resilient infrastructure grows, there is a critical need for intelligent platforms that drive both decarbonisation and systemic reliability at scale,' said Eurazeo managing director Ernest Xue, who joined Celcius to Jinesh Shah, managing partner at Omnivore, Celcius revolutionised cold chain logistics 'to meet the urgent need for energy-efficient, climate-resilient solutions in a warming world'.
