TV star sells family home for seven-figures after bankruptcy
Ant Middleton has sold his family home for a staggering £1.35million after facing bankruptcy. The former SAS: Who Dares Wins star and UK special forces soldier was forced to put his house on the market after facing debts worth £1.2million. The decision came after the 44-year-old decided to move to Dubai a few years ago with his wife and children. At the time he claimed it was because he did not 'agree' with the UK's culture and was being 'unfortunately silenced'. Now, after selling his Essex home – which he bought for £1.16million in 2019 – the TV star could stand to make a fortune after he agreed a sale price with a buyer, the Sun revealed. When advertising his five-bedroom home, prospective buyers could see his £50,000 orangery, designer kitchen and standalone gym. The forced sale of his family home came after the liquidation of Ant's company Sway and Starting. It's claimed that he failed to stick to a payment plan and only returned one instalment of money he owed from his overdrawn Directors Loan Account. According to The Sun, Ant was served a statutory demand with a view to petitioning for his bankruptcy, and the TV star agreed to sell his house and provide the remaining amount owed. Sway and Starting went into liquidation in December 2022 and a statement of affairs from January 2023 revealed tax debts of £1.2million. Ant left Channel 4 reality programme SAS: Who Dares Wins back in 2021 after he had hosted the show since 2015. At the time, it was said he was axed over his 'personal conduct', which came after he made controversial comments in relation to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement and Covid-19. More Trending After far-right protestors clashed with BLM demonstrators in London, Ant called both groups 'scum' in a since-deleted post on X, which read: 'The extreme left against the extreme right. When did two wrongs make a right. 'It was only a matter of time. BLM and EDL are not welcome on our streets, absolute scum. What a great example you are to your future generation. Bravo.' He later apologised in a video, insisting he is not a racist after facing severe backlash, saying: 'Within that tweet I mentioned the BLM and EDL and the word 'scum'. At no point was I calling the BLM scum and comparing the two organisations. I want to make that really, really clear. View More » 'The word scum was used to describe the people in the video that were violent, that were causing terror on the streets of London and setting a bad example for our future generations.' Ex SAS Who Dares Wins star Ant Middleton sells family home amid bankruptcy woes
Ant Middleton, the former presenter of hit reality TV series SAS: Who Dares Wins, has reportedly agreed to sell his lavish family home as his company faces potential bankruptcy Former SAS: Who Dares Wins star Ant Middleton has reportedly sold his sprawling family home amid claims he faces bankruptcy. The ex presenter of the hit reality TV series is thought to have had to put his house up for sale due to business debts which left him facing bankruptcy. Ant had initially bought the lavish property in Essex with his wife Emilie in 2019. They paid £1.16million for the home. Now, it's claimed the pair have sold the property at a profit - but didn't meet their asking price. It's reported they will bag a sale price of £1.35million. That is according to The Sun who say that despite not reaching his initial asking price of £1.5million, the couple will still gain a nice sum in profit for the home that has a £50,000 orangery and a standalone gym. It's said the sale was forced due reports in a liquidation update for Ant's company Sway and Starting, originally called Middleton Global. It's said that i t had been forced into liquidation by creditors despite it raking in £4.5m in 2021. The firm's statement of affairs reveals it was abandoned owing £1,199,000 to HMRC and £3,000 to other creditors. Before wrapping it up, Ant, 43, took out £2.7m as a director's loan, with the paperwork noting it was 'uncertain' how much would be repaid. Liquidators trying to claim back cash for creditors said in documents filed in February: 'We are in correspondence with the director regarding the loan account but a settlement is yet to be reached. "If a satisfactory settlement is not able to be reached it will be necessary for me to petition for the director's bankruptcy.' The accountants are also looking into any possible breaches of the Company Directors Disqualification Act and have sent a report to the Department for Business and Trade. Reports first surfaced in January saying Ant's company had gone bust owing £1.2m to the taxman. His spokesman said at the time: 'Due to the impact of lockdowns on Ant's work and associated adverse effects on the company, unfortunately Middleton Global Limited has had to be placed into voluntary liquidation. "Ant has an extremely busy year ahead and is focused on his TV work, brand deals, books and events.' The Mirror revealed in 2021 that Channel 4 had decided not to work with Ant again due to his 'personal conduct'. He had spent six years on the SAS: Who Dares Wins TV programme, which puts civilians through gruelling military training.

Ant Middleton kicked off TV show months after selling home 'due £1,200,000 debts
Ant Middleton has been cut from another TV show four years after being axed from SAS: Who Dares Wins. The British adventurer, television personality, and former UK Special Forces soldier, Royal Marines Commando, and Royal Engineer in the British Army is best known for being the former Chief Instructor on the Channel 4 television series SAS: Who Dares Wins. However, in 2021, eight years after he first appeared on the show, Ant was cut due to 'personal conduct'. At the time of his firing, the now 44-year-old hit back at the broadcaster after it said it 'would not be working with him again'. He labelled the company 'hypocritical and shameful' for cashing in after his exit. A few years on he's been booted from another show. Ant had signed up to appear on The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition with his brother Dan Middleton. However, the pair were disqualified following an off-camera incident. The drama unfolded during a day off from filming when Dan allegedly got into a heated argument with TikTok stars Luke and Scott O'Halloran, the Daily Mail has reported. Dan reportedly yelled at the brothers and used inappropriate language late at night when most of the cast had gone to bed. His behaviour was then reported by former AFL player Brendan Fevola, who also 'gave producers an ultimatum' and threatened to quit if the Middleton brothers weren't sent packing. Although Ant was not directly involved in the incident he disqualified along with his brother. The show's broadcaster, Network Ten, has since released a statement confirming a team had been disqualified for breaching the show's code of conduct. 'Network 10 takes the health, safety and well-being of all contestants seriously,' a spokesperson said. 'Following a breach of the production's code of conduct by one contestant, on a day off during production, a team from The Amazing Race Australia was disqualified and swiftly sent home.' The show is now in post-production, with producers 'in damage control' as they decide how much footage of them to include in the final edit. This season of the show includes 13 teams competing for a $100,000 (£50,000) charity prize. In February it was reported that Ant had been forced to sell his family home after facing debts worth £1,200,000. According to The Sun, his family's five-bedroom property in Essex was put on the market for £1.5million, and the sale had been reported in a liquidation update for his company Sway and Starting, which both he and his wife Emilie are directors of. It's claimed that he failed to stick to a payment plan and only returned one instalment of money he owed from his overdrawn Directors Loan Account. More Trending According to publication, Ant was served a statutory demand with a view to petitioning for his bankruptcy, and the TV star agreed to sell his house and provide the remaining amount owed. Sway and Starting went into liquidation in December 2022, and a statement of affairs from January 2023 revealed tax debts of £1.2million, consisting of more than £340,000 in VAT, £907,000 in corporation tax and £6,000 in employee taxes.
