Ant Middleton kicked off TV show months after selling home 'due £1,200,000 debts

Metro29-04-2025

Ant Middleton has been cut from another TV show four years after being axed from SAS: Who Dares Wins.
The British adventurer, television personality, and former UK Special Forces soldier, Royal Marines Commando, and Royal Engineer in the British Army is best known for being the former Chief Instructor on the Channel 4 television series SAS: Who Dares Wins.
However, in 2021, eight years after he first appeared on the show, Ant was cut due to 'personal conduct'.
At the time of his firing, the now 44-year-old hit back at the broadcaster after it said it 'would not be working with him again'. He labelled the company 'hypocritical and shameful' for cashing in after his exit.
A few years on he's been booted from another show.
Ant had signed up to appear on The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition with his brother Dan Middleton.
However, the pair were disqualified following an off-camera incident.
The drama unfolded during a day off from filming when Dan allegedly got into a heated argument with TikTok stars Luke and Scott O'Halloran, the Daily Mail has reported.
Dan reportedly yelled at the brothers and used inappropriate language late at night when most of the cast had gone to bed.
His behaviour was then reported by former AFL player Brendan Fevola, who also 'gave producers an ultimatum' and threatened to quit if the Middleton brothers weren't sent packing.
Although Ant was not directly involved in the incident he disqualified along with his brother.
The show's broadcaster, Network Ten, has since released a statement confirming a team had been disqualified for breaching the show's code of conduct.
'Network 10 takes the health, safety and well-being of all contestants seriously,' a spokesperson said.
'Following a breach of the production's code of conduct by one contestant, on a day off during production, a team from The Amazing Race Australia was disqualified and swiftly sent home.'
The show is now in post-production, with producers 'in damage control' as they decide how much footage of them to include in the final edit.
This season of the show includes 13 teams competing for a $100,000 (£50,000) charity prize.
In February it was reported that Ant had been forced to sell his family home after facing debts worth £1,200,000.
According to The Sun, his family's five-bedroom property in Essex was put on the market for £1.5million, and the sale had been reported in a liquidation update for his company Sway and Starting, which both he and his wife Emilie are directors of.
It's claimed that he failed to stick to a payment plan and only returned one instalment of money he owed from his overdrawn Directors Loan Account. More Trending
According to publication, Ant was served a statutory demand with a view to petitioning for his bankruptcy, and the TV star agreed to sell his house and provide the remaining amount owed.
Sway and Starting went into liquidation in December 2022, and a statement of affairs from January 2023 revealed tax debts of £1.2million, consisting of more than £340,000 in VAT, £907,000 in corporation tax and £6,000 in employee taxes.
Metro has contacted representatives for Ant Middleton for comment.

A pal told The Sun: 'Dan and Christine have known each other for years. 'Their friendship goes as far back as 2019, when Jac was heading Down Under to the I'm A Celeb jungle, when they had a brilliant night out at a fund-raising gala in London. 'They stayed in touch sporadically and would bump into each other at events and their messages got pretty flirty. 'Some were seen by mutual friends. 'She would call him 'D' in texts and it became an open secret among their circles. 'There is no suggestion anything sexual happened, but it's fair to say there was a spark between them.' 6 Christine was married to Paddy McGuinness for 11 years Credit: Alamy 6 Dan Osborne, who faced cheating claims, with actress wife Jacqueline Jossa Credit: Eroteme Our source said the pair met at London's The Hoxton hotel in March 2023 — a year after Christine called time with Paddy, 51. And the following month, she cheered him on at a celebrity football match in Cheshire. They also partied together at a restaurant called Habbibi in Leeds. Jaqueline Jossa & Dan Osborne spotted spending secret night together at his home as they battle to save 8-year marriage Our source went on: 'She is absolutely adamant nothing sexual happened between them. 'She also was 100 per cent single at the time and could chat to anyone she wanted.' EastEnders star Jacqueline. 32, and Christine, 37, are both represented by the InterTalent agency. Former Towie star Dan, 33, is adamant nothing happened romantically between the pair, even suggesting that the text messages between them were 'deep fakes or AI' when asked. A pal said: 'Dan is devoted to Jacqueline and would hate for any suggestion of impropriety. 'Of course, it's possible for a man and woman to be mates.' A source close to Christine said: 'Dan mainly led the way with texts but there was lots of platonic stuff about their kids.' Earlier this year, The Sun revealed Dan had moved out of his and Jacqueline's home and into a property he had bought behind his wife's back. 6 Christine said Dan had joined her for raucous nights out that helped lift her spirits Credit: James Curley 6 The pair are also said to have met in London in March 2023 Credit: James Curley Both temporarily removed their wedding rings. It was the second time they had parted ways over the past few years. Although it was claimed mum-of-two Jacqueline was furious, she later insisted the property purchase was for investment purposes only. Christine, married to Paddy for 11 years — and who has won an award for her documentary about her autism struggles — recently pulled out of Channel 4 show, Celebs Go Dating. In recent weeks, she has revealed she dated both men and women since she was a teenager. Another friend added: 'Christine is in a great place. 'She and Paddy are getting on well, everything is amicable, and she's super-excited about the future. "Life is good. 'Her friendship with Dan seems a lifetime ago. 'They don't really speak now.' 'Positive vibes' Christine and Dan have been involved in charity football matches with Sellebrity Soccer together, including in February 2023. She also managed Dan and other celebs in a game in February last year, in which he captained the team and scored in a 6-4 win on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent. Proudly celebrating their victory, Christine wrote on online: 'It was my positive vibes I was sending. 'My men never let me down, we only do winning.' Dan has previously been hit by claims of cheating. But a pal insisted this behaviour was all 'very much in the past'. Just months after fan favourite Jacqueline was crowned Queen of the I'm A Celeb Jungle, Dan admitted to infidelity. He told The Sun he 'takes full responsibility for being crap'. He said: 'I've made mistakes. 'I've done things I shouldn't have done. 'Me and Jac have spoken about that and she has forgiven me. 'I know in the past I've denied things when they're not true, then when something has been true, I probably just kept my mouth shut. 'I was a different person.'

Lesley Garrett cast in Northern Ireland Opera's Follies after cancer surgery

Classical singer Lesley Garrett has joined the Northern Ireland Opera's revival of Follies, after her cancer surgery. Garrett will play Heidi Schiller in Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman's musical about a group of former showgirls, at the Grand Opera House in Belfast in the autumn, The British soprano said on ITV's This Morning earlier this month that she had cancer surgery after being diagnosed with thymoma, a rare cancer of the thymus gland, which could have affected her singing. Since the surgery to remove the tumour, she has made a successful recovery and will now be joining the Follies cast. Garrett said: 'I'm so excited to be coming back to Belfast and especially to be making my debut with Northern Ireland Opera at the age of 70. 'Sondheim's Follies is a masterpiece and I'm delighted to have been given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform the iconic role of Heidi Schiller.' The production marks the singer's 45th anniversary in the industry and her debut with the Northern Ireland Opera, where she will play the 'opera diva' of the Weismann's Follies. Set in 1971, the musical follows the group as they return to their former Broadway stage at Weisman Theatre, for a final reunion show before its scheduled demolition. Jazz singer Jacqueline Dankworth, who was in the original cast of the West End debut for Sondheim's Into The Woods in 1990, will join the cast as Carlotta Campion. West End stars Anna-Jane Casey and Annette McLaughlin will play former room mates Sally Plummer and Phyllis Stone. The production is directed by Cameron Menzies, with Greg Arrowsmith as the musical director. The musical scored seven Tony awards at the 1972 ceremony and is best known for its songs Broadway Baby, I'm Still Here and Losing My Mind. Follies will run from September 13-20.
