A diamond wedding with Omega

DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL'S BEST friend, so they say. Omega would agree, with its range of sparkling timepieces that are perfect for a bride's wrist, or anyone with an eye for tasteful bling. The bridegroom isn't left out, either, with the new 38 mm Railmaster an ideal fit for the special occasion. Whichever the bridal couple chooses, these bejewelled watches are sure to be a perfect match. The De Ville Tresor has a domed, blue patterned dial with a date window at 6 o'clock. PHOTO: OMEGA De Ville Tresor With a ring of diamonds around its bezel, any bride will have trouble taking her eyes off the elegant De Ville Tresor, even if the watch sits on a comparatively large stainless steel case. In line with the Tresor aesthetic, the case is slim and sophisticated, which makes it look smaller than its 40 mm measurement. The case frames a domed, blue patterned dial with a date window at 6 o'clock, as well as hands and indexes in 18-karat white gold. The watch is worn with a matching blue leather strap. Housed within the De Ville Tresor is the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8910 – a fitting replacement for the legendary 30 mm movement that has powered the Tresor collection since it was launched in 1949. Calibre 8910 is certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) as the industry's highest standard of precision, chronometric performance and magnetic resistance. The 30 mm case is graced with a PVD blue dial with a sun-brushed finish. Time on the dial is displayed by rhodium-plated hands, as well as alternating numerals and diamond markers. A timeless collection since 1994, the De Ville Prestige is now in its third generation. The pure look of the watch is completed by a dotted minute track on the inner zone, and a full case-back embossed with a Gold Chronos medallion. This timepiece is presented on a stainless steel bracelet and is driven by the Omega Quartz Calibre 4061, which has a battery life of at least 48 months. Price: S$10,750 The 39 mm Constellation has a Sedna gold bezel engraved with Roman numerals. PHOTO: OMEGA Constellation The stainless steel and 18-karat Sedna gold timepiece features 11 diamond hour markers, with the 6 o'clock mark replaced by a date window. And unlike the De Ville Tresor and Prestige, which feature diamond bezels, this watch showcases a Sedna gold bezel engraved with Roman numerals. The bezel crowns a 39 mm Sedna gold case, which houses an opaline white silvery dial. The Constellation star as well as the diamond holders on the dial are all in Sedna gold. The case and 'mono-rang' stainless steel bracelet spotlight the dramatic and timeless design of the Constellation, characterised by its half-moon 'claws'. Beating at the heart of the timepiece is the METAS-certified Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8800, visible through the domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Price: S$19,050 One of 12 newly launched models, this Aqua Terra has a mother-of-pearl dial in full glossy finish. PHOTO: OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra This petite and slim mechanical timepiece in stainless steel and 18-karat Moonshine gold is decorated with 46 diamonds on a polished bezel and 11 diamond hour markers. One of the 12 latest models in the Aqua Terra, it's the first to come in a 30 mm symmetrical polished case with a wave-edged design on its screw-in case-back. It features a mother-of-pearl dial in full glossy finish, with a circular date window at 6 o'clock. Apart from the diamond hour markers, the dial has redesigned faceted hands, with the minute hand tapering to a delicate point. All the applied elements are in Moonshine gold, while the hands are crafted in 18-karat yellow gold with a PVD Moonshine gold coating. The hands are also coated with white Super-LumiNova, which emits a blue glow. As part of the ocean-inspired Seamaster line, the Aqua Terra 30 mm is both dressy and sporty. It is powered by the METAS-certified Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8750. The watch is paired with an integrated stainless steel and Moonshine gold bracelet with beautifully rounded polished-brushed links, a foldover butterfly clasp, and Omega's easy comfort-adjustment system. Price: S$25,850 The new Railmaster sports a brown dial with a dark gradient. PHOTO: OMEGA Railmaster The Railmaster makes a comeback with new colour gradients and an updated design. The timepiece was first rolled out for railway workers in 1957, along with the Speedmaster and the Seamaster. Forming a trilogy known as the Professional Line, it marked an era of important progress in science and exploration. Like the Railmaster, the first Speedmaster was in turn designed for racing car drivers, and the Seamaster 300 for ocean divers. The anti-magnetic Railmaster was especially suitable for engineers, industrialists and scientists working around railway lines. An inner protective case made the watch resistant to magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gauss, which ensured reliable precision in timekeeping for these professionals. Most anti-magnetic timepieces then offered protection of only around 60 gauss. The Railmaster line has remained a favourite among Omega fans for its vintage style and working-class heritage. Its brushed and polished symmetrical case and integrated bracelet, which includes an easy comfort setting as well as brushed and polished links, are in keeping with the DNA of the first Railmaster. While this new model sports a brown dial with a dark gradient, it retains the easy-to-read display of the earlier models, which include large numerals and hour markers in vintage Super-LumiNova. This watch continues the Railmaster's legacy of anti-magnetism, courtesy of the METAS-certified Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8804. The movement is resistant to magnetism up to 15,000 gauss and can be viewed through the transparent sapphire crystal on the case-back. Price: S$8,800

Switzerland Switches to Daylight Saving Time

Israa Farhan Switzerland has officially transitioned to daylight saving time, moving clocks forward by one hour overnight. According to the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology, the country observes daylight saving time from the last Sunday in March until the last Sunday in October each year. This year, daylight saving time will be in effect from March 30 to October 26, after which Switzerland will revert to standard time. The practice aligns with an agreement made in 1996 between all European Union member states and Switzerland to synchronize seasonal time changes. However, the system remains controversial. Critics argue that adjusting clocks disrupts the biological rhythms of both humans and animals, leading to temporary sleep disturbances and productivity declines. Despite ongoing debates, daylight saving time continues to be widely observed across Europe. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 ..
