Sabah Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (KJSPT) deputy chief DSP Syahlan Sukimin said the public has been flocking to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) traffic summons payment counter at the Tawau Municipal Council Square, which opens from 9 am to 4 pm. 'People can come here to check and pay fines. Here, we have provided counters for physical payments as well as for those who want to use the MyBayar PDRM application, with QR codes available for them to get a 50 per cent discount,' he said when met by Bernama here on Saturday. He expects over 10,000 visitors to come by for PDRM's 50 per cent discount offer until the programme ends Sunday afternoon. 'We hope the public will take this opportunity to pay their fines because such offers are not always available,' he said. A Bernama survey at the payment counter saw that the public could quickly and comfortably settle their traffic summonses, as there were 10 counters provided for checking and paying summonses. A private sector employee, Sharif Ahmad, 30, said he did not want to miss the opportunity of the 50 per cent discount on traffic summonses at the payment counter. 'The space provided is very comfortable and the payment process is also quick, making it very convenient for the public to settle any traffic fines,' he also said. Tawau is hosting the Sabah PMR 2025, a people-centric initiative organised by the Prime Minister's Office through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU), and Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) as the leading ministry, from May 9 to 11. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to officiate this programme Sunday afternoon. while Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor is expected to attend.-Bernama
