Ex-GISBH members leave Selangor following fatwa
SHAH ALAM: Many former members of GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) are believed to have relocated to other states after Selangor declared the group's teachings and network deviant and illegal.
Selangor executive councillor for Islamic religious affairs and innovation Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah said children previously placed under GISBH institutions have now been enrolled in public schools.
"We also provide essential support, including school uniforms and basic needs, through zakat distribution," he said, as reported by Kosmo.
Mohammad Fahmi said parents formerly linked to GISBH are now participating in Riqab classes designed to guide them towards proper religious understanding.
On the legal front, he confirmed that investigation papers had been resubmitted to the prosecution office within the past two weeks after additional details were requested.
The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) had detained 108 individuals suspected of involvement with GISBH, most of them investigated under Section 12(c) of the Syariah Criminal Offences (Selangor) Enactment.
