#SHOWBIZ: Syifa Melvin confirms pregnancy, celebrated by husband with soccer victory
KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and influencer, Syifa Melvin, 31, shared the happy news of expecting her second child with her husband, national football player Safawi Rasid.
Through a post on Instagram (IG) yesterday, Syifa, whose real name is Nur Syifa Athirah Amirol Melvin, expressed her gratitude for the blessing given to her family.
"God has bestowed upon us another trust to take care of.
"An offspring that will complete our life as a trio," she wrote.
The sister of actress Syatilla Melvin hoped that fans will pray for her child to arrive safely and smoothly.
Syifa earlier uploaded a photo of herself holding a pregnancy test kit together with Safawi and their eldest child, Saif Sulaiman.
Many netizens congratulated Syifa and Safawi.
Safawi, who plays for Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City), celebrated his first goal for the team in a meaningful manner on Saturday, prompting fans to speculate.
The 28-year-old player was seen celebrating his goal by placing the ball inside his shirt and showing the number two with his fingers.
Safawi represented KL City in their Super League debut against Immigration FC at the Penang State Stadium on Saturday.
His second goal at the 56th minute helped his team start their season on a positive note by defeating Immigration FC 3-0.
Syifa and Safawi were married on Nov 28, 2022.
