HBO reveals first look at new Weasley siblings for Harry Potter series

HBO's upcoming Harry Potter television series is beginning to take shape as the casting of the Weasley family has been unveiled. The network shared new images on social media introducing the actors who will bring several of the iconic red-haired siblings to life. Tristan and Gabriel Harland, twin brothers who previously appeared in Netflix's The Last Kingdom, have been cast as Fred and George Weasley. Their casting immediately drew attention, as many fans have long speculated who might take on the challenge of playing the mischievous pair. Percy Weasley will be portrayed by Ruari Spooner, known for his role in the short film Syncopation. Ginny Weasley will be played by Gracie Cochrane, who had a supporting role in Apple TV+'s Blitz. While the majority of Ron's siblings have been revealed, Charlie Weasley has yet to be announced. HBO teased the delay by joking that the dragon-loving character is 'in Romania at the moment' but will be joining soon. Fans are also waiting for news on who will portray Arthur and Bill Weasley, two characters who play key roles later in the series. Katherine Parkinson has already been confirmed to play Molly Weasley, rounding out the heart of the family. Production for the series recently began at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, the same site where blockbuster films such as Barbie and Wonka were shot. The show is expected to premiere in 2027 and run for a decade, covering all seven of J.K. Rowling's books in a more expansive format than the films starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. Rowling herself is on board as an executive producer. With the Weasley siblings now stepping into the spotlight, excitement continues to build for a series that promises to revisit Hogwarts with a new generation of actors. For many fans, this extended format could finally allow the Weasley family to shine as they did in the books.
