MrBeast, who once challenged T-Series, gets first-ever 400 million subscriber Play Button, and the internet is not happy
YouTube sensation Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, has finally got the Play Button for becoming the first individual content creator to surpass 400 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel. Social media is obsessed with the shiny new trophy, and not for good reasons. MrBeast made history on June 1, 2025, by hitting 400 million subscribers. MrBeast gets his Play Button MrBeast made history on June 1, 2025, by hitting 400 million subscribers, lugging a massive lead over T-Series, which has around 299 million subscribers. T-Series is the second most-subscribed channel overall. At that time, he took to social media to express his gratitude, writing, '400,000,000 subscribers! A decade ago before I blew up everyone in my life told me I was to obsessed and constantly told I'd never make it. Despite that I was in love with making content and grinded every moment my eyes were open for 7 years before anyone started watching. I literally told my mom I'd rather be homeless than do anything else. The greatest gift in life is being able to wake up everyday with a purpose and thanks to YouTube and you guys, I have that. Thanks for 400M.' On Tuesday, MrBeast shared a picture of himself getting the special first-ever Play Button from YouTube CEO Neal Mohan. Posting the happy moment on his Instagram, MrBeast wrote, '400,000,000 Subscriber Play Button! Thank you YouTube (heart emoji).' Interestingly, it is a custom-made YouTube play button as MrBeast is the first YouTuber ever to reach 400 million subscribers. The award is one-of-a-kind, crafted from polished metal and featuring a striking blue stone in the middle. Internet reacts The picture of MrBeast's 400 million subscriber Play Button sparked a flurry of comments online, with many fans voicing their opinions about the trophy's design – and some were left feeling underwhelmed. 'YouTube should come up with a new design,' one wrote, with another sharing, 'Now they have to make new play buttons only for Jimmy.' Discussion also started on Reddit with a post title reading, 'Mr Beast just got his 400 Mil Subscribers Playbutton. What's your thought on the playbutton? I personally think it could've been entirely different from the previous models. This looks like they made one just for the sake of it.' 'It's just a 10 millions button with the center painted in blue,' one noted, and another shared, 'You know it's bad when they are getting lazy on the design of awards.' 'It's not painted, that looks like it's carved from lapis lazuli or azurite,' read one comment. Another social media user shared, 'That's nice for him. Unfortunately the play button don't even look that special in my opinion.' 'Remember when YouTube gold button actually had a golden YouTube logo in middle? Now it's just a lame yellow painted board,' posted one, with one writing, 'AI generated Playbutton.' Some time back, MrBeast made headlines for daring T-Series' CEO Bhushan Kumar to fight a match against him in a boxing ring. Last year, Bhushan Kumar and MrBeast shared a video with each other where they decided to subscribe to each other on YouTube. About MrBeast Earlier this year, MrBeast joined the billionaire club with a net worth of $1 billion, according to a report by Celebrity Net Worth. The report claims that the 27-year-old is the eighth youngest billionaire in the world and the only one under the age of 30 who hasn't inherited his wealth. Over the years, MrBeast has built a successful YouTube channel and his own brands. According to a report by Business Insider, his company, Beast Industries, generated $473 million in revenue in 2024, and the amount is expected to double in 2025.

Mithoon unveils soulful single ‘Chandaniya' from album ‘Master of Melody'
Renowned music composer Mithoon has released his latest single, Chandaniya, a soul-stirring track rooted deeply in emotional resonance. Featuring vocals by Vishal Mishra and penned by acclaimed lyricist Sayeed Quadri, the song is part of Mithoon's introspective album Master of Melody. Following the overwhelming success of Saiyaara, Chandaniya marks the second offering from the album and continues Mithoon's signature style of minimalist and emotionally rich storytelling through music. Speaking about the track, Mithoon shared, '2025 has been humbling. Watching people connect with my music has been overwhelming. Chandaniya is honest, introspective, and stripped to its essence — exactly the emotional space I always return to.' The music video, directed by Dhruwal Patel and Jigar Mulani, stars Ashish Chanchlani and Elli AvrRam. Their performances bring depth to the track's quiet intensity, perfectly aligning with the song's core message. Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, Chandaniya is now available on T-Series' YouTube channel and all major streaming platforms. Mithoon, known for his minimalist compositions, reflected on his approach: 'You can't really deconstruct my songs. I believe the emotion is the identity of the song, and minimal programming keeps that essence intact.' He credits filmmaker Mohit Suri — with whom he shares a 20-year working relationship — for influencing his creative restraint. 'Mohit often approves my compositions just from piano renditions. He keeps my passion grounded, ensuring the emotion leads the music.' With Chandaniya, Mithoon once again affirms his reputation as a master of emotionally driven melodies that resonate deeply with listeners.

Anurag Kashyap lashes out at T-Series for paying little money for the music of Dev.D, Gangs Of Wasseypur and Gulaal, 'If Bhushan Kumar is not buying it...'
It's yet another chaotic day in the world of Bollywood. This time, the spotlight is on filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and producer Bhushan Kumar. Anurag Kashyap has openly criticized India's largest music label, T-Series, for its approach to music rights and payments. In a recent conversation that Anurag Kashyap had with The Juggernaut, he claimed that T-Series paid him less for the music of his iconic films, and elaborated on why he feels Bhushan Kumar lacks an understanding of good music. Anurag Kashyap Expresses Displeasure Over T-Series Not Paying Him Enough For Music Of His Iconic Films Gangs Of Wasseypur, Dev.D and Gulaal Anurag revealed that T-Series paid him very little for the music of his cult classics Dev.D, Gangs of Wasseypur, and Gulaal. These films, celebrated for their groundbreaking soundtracks, continue to resonate with the listeners. In the interview, he made a very bold remark. 'If Bhushan Kumar is not buying it, then it is good music. If T-Series is not buying it, it is great music. T-Series doesn't buy good music at a good price', he told to the interviewer. T-Series, who continue to profit massively from these soundtracks, have allegedly compensated him inadequately. He claims that the label prioritizes commercial appeal over quality, often paying high amounts only when big stars are involved. Anurag Kashyap Claims Bhushan Kumar's T-Series Acquired The Music Rights Of Bombay Velvet, Despite Not Liking It The filmmaker also highlighted a specific case with his 2015 film Bombay Velvet. According to Kashyap, T-Series paid a substantial amount for its music despite not liking the soundtrack. He said, 'They only pay for the star in it,' implying that T-Series bases its financial decisions on the star power and not the musical merit. Both Bhushan Kumar And Anurag Kashyap Are Correct In Their Own Right; Here's How T-Series, led by Bhushan Kumar, has not publicly responded to these accusations yet. However, the label's dominance in Bollywood's music scene is undeniable. T-Series' commercial focus is not impractical as they are here to make money and not to do public service. Anurag Kashyap, on the other hand, is not wrong to be inclined towards the art, more than the other commercial aspects that labels like T-Series focus on. Share your view on the matter, and whether or not you feel Anurag Kashyap is justified to be speaking like this about the music label that has acquired the music rights of his films.
