OSAKA -- Japanese heavy machinery maker Kubota will expand its lineup of construction equipment in Europe, eyeing the hundreds of billions of dollars in planned infrastructure investment in Germany and the U.K. while tariff uncertainty hangs over the key North American market.
Revenue from Kubota's construction machinery business reached 647.6 billion yen ($4.42 billion) last year, more than double the figure five years earlier. One driver has been compact track loaders (CTLs), used to move earth and level land. Kubota ranks second in the global market with a roughly 20% share, despite entering the field relatively recently in 2010.
