New creative space TEA Art Hub to launch with art and film festival
TEA Art Hub, a brand-new creative space behind Kingsquare Community Mall, Rama III Road, will open its doors with TEA Art Weekend, running this Saturday and Sunday and Aug 23-24, daily from 3pm to 9pm.
The festival's flagship exhibition is "Poetic Machines & Paper Heroes: From Quiet Determination To Daring Dreams", which reimagines the "spirit of quiet resolve" found in Japanese creators through contemporary art, paper-crafted robots, heroes from book pages, dream machines, classic cinema and live performances that set inspiration in motion.
It will also feature a rare Japanese film programme, short films, video art, live performance, live music with film and a mini art fair where artists, galleries and brands -- stylish, cool and charming -- showcase their works and products, drawing you closer to the heart of contemporary culture.
A spiritual crossroads where cultures merge into a powerful force, the festival gets support from Japan Foundation, Documentary Club, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Chulalongkorn University, SiamANIMA, Flavours of Thai Independent Animation and Avagarde Art Agency. They bring together Asian artists, classic films, short films, animation, live acts and cross-cultural conversations to help turn dreams into reality.
Meanwhile, BSC Cosmetology, I C Lab, His & Her, and Era-Won x Stranger Things add vibrant energy to the festival through fashion, pop culture, community and creative ideas that weave the past and future into one seamless experience.
Located at Warehouse 5 on Ratchadaphisek-Rama III Road, the TEA Art Hub (Thai East Asian Art Hub) is a new universe of art, film, animation and live performance where Japanese and East Asian inspirations flow into the creative heartbeat of Thailand.
