Trisha Krishnan ‘ruined' Sugar Baby, says Internet, after watching choreographer's moves to Thug Life song
One of the most contentious songs from Mani Ratnam's Thug Life has to be Sugar Baby. The AR Rahman composition has faced criticism for everything from the song title to Trisha Krishnan's dance and more. This only escalated once choreographer Roshini Nair posted a video of the rehearsal for the song on Instagram. Tagging choreographer Kruti Mahesh, she wrote, 'Once in a lifetime experience!!! THUG LIFE!!! Choreographer @iamkrutimahesh.' The footage is juxtaposed with Trisha performing the hook step in the recently released lyrical video of the song. A post shared by Roshini Nair 🧿 (@rawshini) The comments section of the post was filled with people having a lot of feeling about how Trisha performed the hook step. One person wrote, ''Choreographer nailed it… Trisha hmmmm.' Another commented, 'Its not a bad step, its Trisha who did bad.' One thought, 'Choregrapher is dancing very gracefully. I don't know what Trisha is doing.' A person even thought the choreographer should've been in the song, 'The choreographer's facial expressions are superb. The song would have been better if she acted.' Some even thought Trisha 'ruined' a fun step, with one Instagram user writing, 'Seeing the song I thought what a stupid dance step. The highly anticipated trailer for Thug Life, directed by the legendary Mani Ratnam, has finally dropped—and it's everything fans hoped for. The upcoming Tamil-language action drama sets the stage for an explosive face-off between screen titan Kamal Haasan and the dynamic Silambarasan TR. Clocking in at just under two minutes, the trailer of Thug Life introduces us to Rangaraaya Shaktivel (Haasan) and his son Amaran (Silambarasan). The initial moments portray a touching bond between father and son, underpinned by respect and love. But peace doesn't last long. When Rangaraaya is presumed dead, Amaran rises to power—only for his father to return, alive and unyielding. What follows is a tense transformation from familial warmth to all-out war, as father and son battle for dominance. The trailer also offers glimpses of other characters, played by Trisha Krishnan, Nassar, and Abhirami, suggesting a layered ensemble cast with plenty of intrigue to come. On social media platform X, fans were quick to react. One user wrote, 'A BIT UNDERWHELMING TRAILER CUT BUT THAT DOESN'T STOP ME TO GET HYPED UP FOR THUG LIFE.' Featuring a star-studded cast, music by A.R. Rahman, and cinematography by Ravi K. Chandran, the film marks the first Haasan-Ratnam collaboration since Nayakan (1987). Thug Life is set for a worldwide release on June 5, 2025, in both Standard and IMAX formats.
