Dwyane Wade shares what he's learned as a broadcaster ahead of NBA on Prime Gig
Dwyane Wade is excited to be part of a new, star-studded team that will help Amazon kick off its relationship with the NBA this fall. The Basketball Hall of Famer will serve as an in-game and studio analyst when Prime Video launches its inaugural season of NBA coverage in October. He joins a roster of analysts for NBA on Prime that also includes his former Miami Heat teammate Udonis Haslem; fellow Basketball Hall of Famers Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki; and women's basketball legend Candace Parker, whom he refers to in a interview as his 'sister.' 'When you retire, you're not a part of a team anymore. You're not in a locker room like that anymore. So it'd be good,' he says of his role on the NBA on Prime crew. Wade looks forward to engaging in conversations on air with other former players whom he's faced on the court and those who have 'been in the same battle' as competitors in the NBA. The three-time NBA champion is also eager to announce games courtside, as he did at the 2024 Paris Olympics for NBC. 'I like just the natural reaction, being able to be the mind of the listeners, in a sense, being able to bring them to the game with understanding what they're about to watch or what they're watching,' he explains. 'I had a great time doing that with Noah Eagle in the Olympics, and so I want to continue that as well. So those things excite me.' Wade called U.S. men's basketball games at the Paris Olympics alongside Eagle, the son of popular veteran sportscaster Ian Eagle, who's been named one of NBA on Prime's play-by-play announcers. The recent TODAY with Jenna & Friends guest co-host, who previously served as a studio analyst for TNT before his work at the Olympics, praises Noah Eagle as a broadcast partner, saying he 'carried us.' He adds that there were lessons he learned from his experience at the Olympics that he can take with him into his new gig with Prime Video. 'I didn't know when I first sat down next to Noah, I didn't understand how to bring what's happening to light in 15 seconds in these sound bites, not overtalking, not giving too much, not talking over,' he says. 'We could talk a lot of basketball talk sometimes, and the fans probably don't understand what that means because we're talking about things that's locker room stuff. And so, kind of making it in a way where everyone can understand it.' Wade also emphasizes the 'power of silence': allowing viewers to hear and absorb the sounds of the game and the crowd without commentators' chatter to distract them. Similar to other players turned analysts, Wade's approach to the job is simple. 'People want to hear the way that you see the game and how you play the game, how you prepare for the game. Give them stories. Give them these little insights that they would love to have. And so, just trying to find these moments to be able to give them that locker room insight, give them that road-trip insight, give them that in-the-huddle insight.' Prime Video will kick off the first season of its 11-year deal with the NBA on Oct. 24 with an opening-week doubleheader.

Halle Berry Reveals Why She Hasn't Married Singer-Songwriter Van Hunt
Halle Berry once donned an all-leather jumpsuit — but will she be trading it in for an all-white wedding number? On Tuesday's broadcast of 'TODAY with Jenna & Friends,' the Oscar winner and her partner, singer-songwriter Van Hunt, joined host Jenna Bush Hager as guests — marking their first on-air interview together as a couple. With flowers in hand, Hunt joined Berry to gush about their relationship, though he admitted to that he's ready to take their love to the next level. 'So I put out the proposal, and it's still on hold, as you can see,' Hunt told the outlet. 'It's just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her.' But Berry explained her reluctance to wed in the interview, grounded in a past where not every happily-ever-after went according to script. 'Well, I've been married three times,' she said. 'Van has been married once, and so no, we don't feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don't.' The Oscar-winner predicted they'll likely tie the knot eventually, but said there's no rush. Berry said the 'I do' isn't about tradition; it's about timing. During her sit-down with Hager, Berry joked that her relationship with Hunt is 'the longest' she's ever been in. 'When you find your person, you find your person — and I now have found my person,' she said with a smile. Salma Hayek recalls overcoming 'imposter syndrome' before SI Swimsuit cover shoot
Salma Hayek Pinault is opening up about the imposter syndrome she felt when it came time to shoot the 2025 issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. In the cover photo, which was exclusively shared on TODAY May 13 and will hit newsstands on May 17, Hayek Pinault is seen confidently posing in a green Johanna Ortiz swimsuit. But ahead of the photo shoot, Hayek Pinault admits that she was scared. 'At the beginning, it felt like imposter syndrome and terrifying, terrifying, terrifying,' she told Jenna Bush Hager and guest co-host Erin Andrews on the May 13 episode of "TODAY with Jenna & Friends." Hayek Pinault explained that she had second thoughts about the opportunity and tried to get out of it. 'I wanted to pull out,' she said. 'I was looking for any kind of excuse to (pull out). I started to panic.' But ultimately, she followed through with the photo shoot, despite her nerves. 'At this point, it felt terrifying,' she said. 'At this point, I kind of said, 'I'm just going to own it and rock it.' I was so happy. So I think it is so much a right to be full of joy, to be full of life, to be happy and embrace yourself and life itself at any age.' 'We don't expire like my generation was told,' she later said. Hayek Pinault also shared that doing the photo shoot taught her the importance of saying 'yes' to things that scare you. 'And to have fun doing the things that terrify you,' she added.

Morgan Wallen on his controversial 'SNL' exit: 'I was just ready to go home'
Country singer Morgan Wallen has addressed his controversial "Saturday Night Live" exit, saying he was simply "ready to go home." Wallen, 31, made headlines for his abrupt departure after he was the show's musical guest in March. Whereas many hosts and musical guests remain on stage and mingle with the cast after the show has wrapped, Wallen hugged the host and walked off within seconds. Over the weekend, he chatted on the podcast 'Sundae Conversation with Caleb Pressley,' about the stir his exit made. "Could you fix a TV, if it was on 'SNL?'" host Caleb Pressley asked him. "I could change it for sure," Wallen replied with a laugh. "Seriously, 'SNL,' did they make you mad?" the host pressed. "No, no," Wallen said. "I was just ready to go home. I'd been there all week." "You had to get your plane. 'Get me to God's country,'" Pressley said, quoting the Instagram story Wallen posted after the show that night, picturing a plane sitting on the runway. Wallen turned the viral post into merchandise less than a week later, selling baseball caps and shirts on his website. "SNL" cast members Bowen Yang and Kenan Thompson addressed the unusual exit on TODAY with Jenna & Friends last month, but with a focus on moving forward. 'This is the God's honest truth: Nothing happened, and so even after it happened, we all just showed up to work the next day because it's like, you've just got to move on to the next thing,' Yang said. Thompson previously told Entertainment Weekly that Wallen's exit was "a spike in the norm." "I don't know what goes through people's minds when they decide to do stuff like that," Thompson told the outlet. "I don't know if he understood the assignment or not, or if he was really feeling a certain kind of way."
