Julien Baker cancels tour with Torres citing health reasons; fans suspect a concussion: 'You can always tour again'
Julien Baker cancels tour: Julien Baker and TORRES have officially called off their 2025 Send a Prayer My Way tour. The duo shared the news in a statement posted Sunday morning, citing health concerns as the reason behind the difficult decision. The duo was scheduled to play Houston on Monday and Dallas on Tuesday. Julien Baker announce the cancellation of her tour with Torres 'Due to recent events, Julien Baker is prioritising her well-being and taking time to focus on her health,' the statement read. 'This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the disappointment this may cause for fans. We deeply appreciate your understanding.' Fans suspect Julien suffered a concussion in March While the exact nature of the health issue hasn't been disclosed, fans are speculating it may be related to a March incident in which a 'key member' of the touring team suffered a concussion. At that time, just three shows were cancelled. But as of now, all remaining 2025 headlining dates have been called off. Fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment but have largely responded with messages of support and concern for Baker's health. Many are hopeful the tour could be rescheduled once she's ready. Responding to the post announcing the cancellation of their tours shared on the Reddit subreddit r/indieheads by a fan, one Reddit user wrote, "Oh damn. Hope everything turns out okay." Another added, "Aw man. I hope everyone is okay. We were seeing them with Rilo Kiley at Red Rocks. I wonder who'll open now." A third fan added, "Damn, this reads as very serious. I hope she's ok and takes care of herself—you can always tour again, but you can't undo harm to your health," while a fourth commented, "If it's the concussion others are mentioning, this is probably for the best. Concussions are tricky, and you don't want to rush back from them. Loud music can make recovery extremely difficult or exacerbate." The cancelled tour was meant to promote Baker and TORRES' recently released collaborative country album, Send a Prayer My Way, which dropped on April 18. The project, which has been praised for its raw lyricism and unexpected sonic pairing, features standout tracks like Sugar in the Tank and Sylvia. As of now, no rescheduled dates have been announced.

Lucy Dacus confirms relationship with boygenius bandmate Julien Baker
Singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus has confirmed her romantic relationship with fellow musician and boygenius bandmate Julien Baker. In an interview with The New Yorker published on March 17, Dacus revealed that her upcoming solo album, Forever Is A Feeling, is inspired in part by their relationship. The album is set for release on March 28, 2025. Speaking with journalist Amanda Petrusich, Dacus opened up about the balance between privacy and authenticity in her art. 'I want to protect what is precious in my life, but also to be honest,' she said. Dacus noted that while her relationship with Baker has influenced the album's emotional tone, the songs reflect a variety of experiences and people in her life. Among the tracks exploring personal themes is 'Most Wanted Man in West Tennessee', which includes a reference to Baker's hometown of Memphis. Dacus reflected, 'Maybe a healthier way to think about it is ... it's not actually fragile. These songs are about different people. But, you know, 'Most Wanted Man in West Tennessee' — what are you gonna do?' Though fans had long speculated about their connection, Dacus's comments mark her first direct confirmation of the relationship. She acknowledged that while most fans have respected their privacy, a few have made it feel threatened. Dacus and Baker, both 29, currently live together in Los Angeles near their boygenius collaborator Phoebe Bridgers. The trio remains close, even as the group is on an indefinite break following the success of their 2023 album The Record. Dacus explained that they had always intended to take time off after a year of touring and promotion. While Dacus focuses on her solo work, Baker is preparing to release a collaborative album with TORRES titled Send A Prayer My Way, due April 18, 2025. Together, their bond continues to shape not just their personal lives, but also the art they share with the world.

Rilo Kiley Expand Reunion, Reissuing Sophomore LP
After announcing appearances at the Just Like Heaven and Kilby Block Party festivals this spring, Rilo Kiley have added a host of dates to their first tour in 17 years. The Jenny Lewis-led group will return to the stage May 5 in San Diego and has shows booked through May 23 in Portland, Or., with additional touring expected to follow this year. Julien Baker and TORRES will open a May 14 show at Red Rocks outside Denver, with additional support acts to be announced. Tickets go on sale Friday (Feb. 7). Every Hüsker Dü Album, Ranked In addition, Rilo Kiley will reissue their 2002 sophomore album The Execution of All Things on April 25 through Saddle Creak. The so-called 'Frozen Lake Edition' will be available as a single LP, a deluxe LP with a bonus 7-inch vinyl single and on CD. Click here to pre-order. 'It's going to be wonderful for us, like going back to the purest version of yourself — that early '20s place where everything is possible,' says Lewis, who is flanked in Rilo Kiley by Blake Sennett, Pierre De Reeder and Jason Boesel. 'You're in a van and Jason's got the map, Pierre is behind the wheel, and I'm on the shitty acoustic guitar on the bench seat working out a new song with Blake. I don't think it's ever been as good as that, when it was just us against the world.' Rilo Kiley released four well-regarded albums between 2001 and 2007, after which Lewis has focused on her solo career and participated in two, 10-years-apart reunions of the Postal Service. The closest the group has come to reuniting was in 2015, when Sennett made a surprise appearance during Lewis' solo Coachella set to play the Rilo Kiley song 'Portions for Foxes.' In 2012, they teased fans with a Facebook message saying that a 'record is almost finished,' but the project in question turned out to be the rarities collection Rkives, which was eventually released the following year. 5/05/25 – San Luis Obispo, CA – Fremont Theatre5/07/25 – Ojai, CA – Libbey Bowl5/10/25 – Pasadena, CA – Just Like Heaven5/12/25 – Phoenix, AZ – The Van Buren5/14/25 – Morrison, CO – Red Rocks Amphitheatre5/16/25 – Salt Lake City, UT – Kilby Block Party5/17/25 – Boise, ID – Treefort Music Fest5/19/25 – Jackson, WY – Center for the Arts5/21/25 – Vancouver, BC – Commodore Ballroom5/23/25 – Portland, OR – McMenamins Grand Lodge To see our running list of the top 100 greatest rock stars of all time, click here.
