Trump set to speak at CPAC

President Trump is set to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday, the organization announced Wednesday. Trump's appearance was largely expected at the multiday GOP conference, which runs from Thursday to Saturday in Maryland, particularly because Vice President Vance is scheduled to deliver remarks Thursday and Trump has spoken at CPAC in past years. While the conference was once seen as a Republican event that saw GOP activists and candidate hopefuls alike exchange ideas and deliver remarks, in recent years the event has largely become a celebration of Trump — so much so that the event has sometimes been referred to as 'TPAC.' This year's CPAC is likely to serve as something of a victory lap for the president and like-minded Republicans after decisively winning all seven battleground states last November and making inroads with key voting blocs. Still, CPAC will also see a number of influential speakers this week in addition to Trump and Vance, including House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), Attorney General Pam Bondi and Trump border czar Tom Homan. Some of the names notably not featured on this year's list of speakers include Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). The event is set to take place at the same time as the Principles First summit in Washington, which largely includes vocal Trump critics and a handful of Democrats. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. TPAC announces Broadway shows coming to Nashville in 2025–26

"Hamilton" is one of several Broadway musicals coming to Nashville during the Tennessee Performing Arts Center's 2025–26 season. Why it matters: TPAC's annual series brings touring productions of Broadway's best shows to us. It's a lot more convenient than flying to New York. Between the lines: Lin-Manuel Miranda's epic "Hamilton," which will run from June 17–28, 2026, has already visited TPAC twice in the last few years. It drove record-setting ticket demand both times. The revolutionary musical about the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway. State of plays: Other shows coming to TPAC during its next season include "The Wiz," the classic musical retelling of "The Wizard of Oz" that predates "Wicked," and "Suffs," which traces multiple generations of the women's suffrage movement in the U.S. Several musical adaptations of classic movies are on the schedule, including "Beauty and the Beast," "The Outsiders" and "Back to the Future." The full schedule:"The Wiz," Sept. 23–28, 2025 "The Outsiders," Oct. 14–19, 2025 "Disney's Beauty and the Beast," Nov. 4–16, 2025 "Suffs," March 3–8, 2026 "Back to the Future," March 17–22, 2026 "Some Like It Hot," April 21–26, 2026 "Water for Elephants," May 12–17, 2026 "Hamilton," June 17–28, 2026 If you go: Season ticket packages are on sale now, starting at $380. Individual show tickets will be available later. Zoom out: Three other musicals coming to Nashville next year are not part of the season package. "Les Misérables," Jan. 20–25, 2026 "Six," Feb. 3–8, 2026 "The Book of Mormon," June 2–7, 2026 What's next: Next up in the current season is "& Juliet," premiering Tuesday and running through Feb. 16.
