Craig David returns to Malaysia this November, his only Asian stop of TS5 tour
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 — UK R&B superstar Craig David will return to Malaysia this November for the first time in over a decade – and he's bringing his acclaimed TS5 live experience to Kuala Lumpur. The Craig David Presents TS5: Live in Kuala Lumpur show will take place on November 10 at Mega Star Arena, Sungei Wang Plaza. Organised by T-Rex Studio, it will be David's only Asian stop on his current world tour. His last performance in Malaysia was in 2014. Blending UK garage classics, R&B, bashment, old-school anthems and contemporary house, the DJ–vocal hybrid set has since attracted a global following, with over 1.5 million listeners tuning in worldwide. David has taken the TS5 show to stages in London, Glastonbury, New York and Ibiza, performing as singer, MC and DJ – all at once. This year also marks a milestone for the 43-year-old star, who released his latest album Commitment on August 8, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of his debut Born to Do It – the record that spawned hits like 7 Days, Fill Me In and Walking Away. His previous album, The Time Is Now (2018), featured collaborations with Bastille (I Know You) and included tracks such as Heartline. The event, which will be held at Mega Star Arena here, will feature David's signature 'TS5″ concept – a combination of live vocals and DJ sets that has made him a global phenomenon since he introduced it in 2012. 'TS5, which began as a radio show from his apartment in Miami, has since toured prestigious stages around the world such as Ibiza, Dubai, London, and Tokyo. Now, for the first time, it will meet fans in Malaysia,' organiser T-Rex Studio said. 'Fans can expect a high-energy and dynamic night, featuring Craig's hit songs spanning more than two decades, including 'Fill Me In', '7 Days', 'Walking Away', 'What's Your Flava' and 'When the Bassline Drops'.' David's visit also coincides with his ninth studio album, 'Commitment', which was released on Aug 8. He first gained worldwide attention through his collaboration with Artful Dodger on 'Re-Rewind', before skyrocketing to fame with his debut solo single 'Fill Me In', making him the youngest male solo artiste ever to top the UK charts. David's debut album 'Born To Do It' (2000) sold over seven million units worldwide, and was recognised by MTV and The Guardian as one of the greatest albums of all time.
