More info Get the latest Dublin Live breaking news on WhatsApp A new initiative launched by the Irish government is advertising over 40 jobs with a decent starting salary. The local government initiative, launched today, aims to attract suitably qualified graduates exiting degree or masters' courses in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Britain or internationally. Graduates across Dublin are now being encouraged to apply for roles in Dublin City Council and other county and city councils in Ireland. A total of 43 new posts are available in 26 of the 31 county and city councils nationwide, offering a starting salary of almost €39,000, 24 days' annual leave and a structured career allowing graduates to progress to professional planning. Drimnagh man, Mateusz Ciesiolka, who works ith Dublin City Council, said having a vision for an area is one of the core attractions of a planning career. The 24-year-old graduated from TUD Bolton Street with a degree in Planning and Environmental Management. He said: "Planning is all about the future, you're helping to determine the future development of your city or your village, but most importantly, we plan for people. 'In a city council, no two days are the same, it's very interesting and there are so many opportunities.' In his role, Mateusz has worked on strategic planning for various areas of the city – shaping how they can best be transformed in the years to come. You can find out more on how to apply online.
