AIR 238 in JEE, IIT Delhi degree, well-paying job... then left everything for Rs 500 assignments. Now, he works with Ranbir Kapoor and Manoj Bajpayee
From cracking IIT Delhi with an AIR of 238 to stealing scenes as the iconic DJ Chitvan in TVF Tripling and portraying Bhagat Singh alongside Vicky Kaushal in Sardar Udham , actor Amol Parashar has lived one of the most unconventional Bollywood journeys of our time. In a recent conversation with Humans of Bombay, Amol shared how he walked away from a cushy consulting job — and proud parental expectations — to chase something that gave him true joy: theatre. With no contacts and little money, he arrived in Mumbai and began hustling at Prithvi Theatre, earning just Rs 500 to Rs 1000 per show while doing part-time jobs to stay afloat. It wasn't glamorous. But his persistence paid off — six months into the grind, a casting director who remembered him from his IIT days offered him an audition, which landed him his debut in Yash Raj Films' Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year , starring Ranbir Kapoor. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Tiger meeting her former zookeeper after 5 years. Fathers Day 2025: Actor Maanvi Gagroo Dedicates 100 Trees To Her Father SK Gagroo
New Delhi: Actress Maanvi Gagroo has captured the hearts of audiences with her standout performances in web series such as TVF Pitchers, TVF Tripling, Four More Shots Please!, and Made in Heaven. At the 2023 Filmfare OTT Awards, she won the Best Actress in a Comedy Series trophy for her role in TVF Tripling – Season 3. A well-read Psychology graduate, Maanvi comes from a family grounded in values like empathy and social responsibility. On Father's Day (June 15), she made a heartfelt and environmentally conscious gesture to honour her father, S.K. Gagroo by dedicating 100 trees in his name. She shared the tribute in an Instagram post, expressing both her affection and her commitment to a cause close to her heart. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Maanvi Gagroo (@maanvigagroo) 'This Father's Day, I am dedicating 100 trees to my father for raising us with the strength to weather any and all storms, while simultaneously instilling in us the desire to give back to our country, the environment, and communities. I am happy that these trees will enrich the biodiversity of Uttarakhand, which—according to news reports—has lost about 50,000 hectares of its forests to various developmental activities over the past 20 years.' The trees dedicated by Maanvi will support Trees for Ecotourism, a large-scale afforestation initiative by the social enterprise located in Barkot, Uttarakhand—a region heavily affected by climate change, water scarcity, and deforestation. These challenges, along with unseasonal warm temperatures, have caused a decline in tourism, directly impacting the livelihoods of local communities. The Trees for Ecotourism project works closely with local residents to implement sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and the economy. The tree species planted in this initiative include Oak (Quercus leucotrichophora), Himalayan Cedar (Cedrus deodara), Indian Soapberry (Sapindus mukorossi), Kharsu Oak (Quercus semecarpifolia), Dwarf Bamboo (Chimonobambusa falcata), Bhimal (Grewia optiva), and Indian Bay Leaf (Cinnamomum tamala). Maanvi adds:'I would love to see more people doing their bit to preserve the nation's green cover and plant trees, which are crucial for the integrity of our ecosystem.' With 82,540 trees still available for adoption, anyone can make a green gesture with just a click on just like Maanvi and memorialise a special day or honour a precious bond.

Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 OTT Release Update: When and where to expect return of Ravi Kishan's hit show
Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 OTT Release Update: Get ready to head back to Patparganj District Court as the quirkiest courtroom in the country is opening its doors again! Maamla Legal Hai is officially returning for Season 2, and yes, our favourite 'law ke side effects' squad is reporting back for duty. If you loved Season 1, then brace yourself, the next round of legal madness is already in the works. What was Maamla Legal Hai Season 1 all about? When Maamla Legal Hai dropped on Netflix earlier in 2024, no one expected a courtroom comedy set in a local district court to become such a breakout hit. But it did. With its refreshing mix of legal satire, heartfelt characters, and everyday desi humour, the show hit the sweet spot between serious and silly. Set in the dusty corridors of Patparganj District Court, Season 1 followed the misadventures of a group of underpaid, overworked, and hopelessly eccentric lawyers. At the heart of it all was VD Tyagi (played to perfection by Ravi Kishan), the veteran advocate who acts like he's fighting for the Supreme Court but is usually just handling marriage disputes, stray cow complaints, or missing laddoos. When is Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 coming? Here's the legal update you've been waiting for: Season 2 has started filming! So yes, it's officially happening. While Netflix hasn't confirmed a release date just yet, going by the production cycle and the early filming announcement, we can expect Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 to hit the platform sometime in mid to late 2025. Till then, dust off your black coat, polish that gavel, and stay ready. What to expect this time around? Season 2 promises more legal dis-order than ever. And the best part? We've got new faces entering the courtroom. The heart of Maamla Legal Hai is its cast. Leading the charge once again is Ravi Kishan as Advocate VD Tyagi. Also returning: Naila Grewal as Ananya, the no-nonsense intern who's still figuring out why she took this job. Nidhi Bisht as Sujata, the fiery and ambitious lawyer whose courtroom energy can light up the whole building. Anant Joshi as Vishwas, who still hasn't cracked his first real case but has plenty of conspiracy theories. Joining the madness in Season 2 are two very exciting names: Dinesh Lal Yadav aka Nirahua, the Bhojpuri superstar known for his perfect comic timing. He's set to bring some serious masala to the legal crew. Kusha Kapila, the internet's favourite sass queen, steps into the courtroom with her signature spark. Directed by Rahul Pandey and created by Sameer Saxena (of TVF Tripling and Yeh Meri Family fame), the show continues to blend OTT realism with sitcom-style laughter.
