International Beer Day speaks to Orlando-local hopheads
Beer is a universal language, but they are seriously fluent at A La Cart, where craft beer is the showcase alongside multiple local food purveyors. And it just so happens that they've got a sweet event that this year, aligns with International Beer Day (Aug. 1)
Kicking off at their Milk District location on Friday, Sourfest will showcase this wonderfully diverse and unique style, one coveted by brewers worldwide.
'It really does speak to the holiday,' says A La Cart's Dustin Williams. 'There is such a wide range of flavors, from truly sour to beers that taste like cake in a cup. We'll be covering that range all month long.'
Kicking it off, a collaboration with local favorites Tactical Brewing, which is releasing several new offerings at both A La Cart, as well as in their own Baldwin Park taproom (see below).
A carnival atmosphere will ensue, complete with games and prizes, as each weekend the celebration focuses on a different sour-specializing brewery.

They're dropping some seriously tasty new releases at their Baldwin Park beerhaus for International Beer Day. These include Mo Muggles, Mo Problems, a Butterbeer-inspired sour made with caramel and butterscotch for all the thirsty Harry Potter fans out there; Man of Straw, a dark, Czech-style lager brewed with Czech pilsen malt and Eastern European hops and the Caribbean-inspired Banana Smuggler, a sour ale conditioned with banana, cream of coconut and Caribbean rum-soaked lime zest. It's a special release day to celebrate for Toll Road. Goodies include the 70s-centric Apri-Yacht Wheat, an apricot wheat ale and Getting Caught in the Rain, a piña colada cream ale.
