Oklahoma Sooners add veteran sharpshooter via the transfer portal

Oklahoma Sooners add veteran sharpshooter via the transfer portal The Oklahoma Sooners added a second transfer on Monday to retool a roster that's losing a ton of talent from their NCAA Tournament team. After OU signed former Notre Dame forward Tae Davis, the Sooners received another commitment, this time from former Kansas State and Miami guard Nijel Pack. Pack played in just nine games for the Hurricanes in 2024-2025 due to injury but is a bonafide shooter. For his career, Pack is shooting 40.3% from three-point range and is averaging 14.3 points per game in 122 games dating back to his true freshman season in 2020-2021. He has 25 games of 20 or more points in his career and 60 games of 15 or more points. Pack's career high was 35 points for Kansas State back in 2022. That season, he scored 30 or more three times. He has 31 games of at least four three-pointers in his career. He has two games with eight three-pointers made. Pack gives the Sooners a bonafide three-point threat for Porter Moser's offense. Brycen Goodine led the Sooners with 1.9 three-pointers made per game in 2024-2025. For Pack's career, he's averaged 2.9 made three-pointers per game. The Sooners have made two big splashes in the transfer portal with Davis and Pack. The Sooners will likely continue to be active with five more roster spots to fill. Notre Dame forward Tae Davis entering transfer portal for second time

Notre Dame forward Tae Davis entering transfer portal for second time Even with the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament going on, Notre Dame forward Tae Davis has made his feelings about his basketball future known. It won't be with the Irish as reports from ESPN and On3 indicate that he will enter the transfer portal. This will be his second time going through it after coming to the Irish from Seton Hall before the 2023-24 season. This is a tough loss for the Irish as Davis was second on the team in both scoring (15.1) and rebounds (5.3) as well as third in assists (1.8) during this past season. His scoring average in particular jumped by nearly six points a game from the previous season. He also averaged a career-high 30.8 minutes a game. It's hard to know exactly what prompted Davis to make this decision, but the Irish might have to rely on their incoming recruiting class more than they might have expected now to try and make up his production: The offseason truly has begun for the Irish. We soon will see how they respond to this. Contact/Follow us @IrishWireND on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Notre Dame news, notes and opinions. ACC Tournament - Notre Dame vs. North Carolina Prediction: Odds, Expert Picks, Betting Trends, and Stats

The afternoon session of the ACC Tournament concludes in Charlotte with the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame 15-17, 9-12) taking the court against the Tar Heels of North Carolina (20-12, 13-7). It was a controversial finish, but Notre Dame eliminated Pitt yesterday in the Opening Round, 55-54. Tae Davis led the way with 11 points for the Irish who had just three players score in double figures and got just seven points from their bench, but this time of year it is simple survive and advance. North Carolina simply must get the win today or their NCAA Tournament hopes will be crushed. The Tar Heels would have all but secured their spot in the Field of 68 with a seventh straight win if they had held onto their second half lead against Duke last weekend, but that loss keeps them uncomfortably seated on the bubble. Lets dive into the matchup and offer some information and possibly a sweat or two. ACC Network broadcast was in disbelief after Notre Dame beat Pitt on a dreadful last-second foul call

ACC Network broadcast was in disbelief after Notre Dame beat Pitt on a dreadful last-second foul call The Pitt Panthers went into Tuesday's ACC tournament opener against Notre Dame essentially needing to run the table in Charlotte to make the NCAA tournament. Instead, the Panthers got bounced after one game in a way that will sting all offseason. With the game tied in the final seconds, Markus Burton's desperation jumper was wide off the side of the rim, but Notre Dame's Tae Davis was there for the tip-in chance and somehow missed. Now, Pitt's Zack Austin did make somewhat of an attempt to contest the last-second tip, but the far-side official saw it as a foul. You won't see many weaker calls than that, though, and the ACC Network broadcast of Wes Durham, Cory Alexander and Jim Boeheim were in disbelief at the whistle in that situation. That call sent Davis to the line with less than a second remaining, and he split the pair to give Notre Dame the 55-54 win. Pitt head coach Jeff Capel didn't hold back about the call either, telling reporters that he was shocked with how that game ended. With the loss, the Panthers likely head into the offseason unless the NIT or CBI give them an invite (and they may decline those).
