WWE Saturday Night Main Event Live: Check Full Match Card, Streaming Details
Last Updated: The WWE Saturday Night Main Event will see John Cena taking on R-Truth and Jey Uso putting his heavyweight championship title on the line. A World Heavyweight Championship clash and a Steel-Cage match, combined with legendary John Cena's non-title fight, mark the upcoming WWE Saturday Night Main Event on 24 May at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. No changes have been made by the WWE to its original full match card for the event, starting at 5:30 am (Sunday) Indian Standard Time. Undisputed WWE champion John Cena's farewell tour continues to create interest with the addition of a non-title face-off with R-Truth. Speculation is rife as to why the Cena-Truth clash is a non-title affair. However, Cena's return to the main event full card is expected to cause great excitement among fans. The WWE has attempted to spice up the event by surprisingly setting up Truth against Cena despite the 53-year-old helping him retain the championship at Backlash. A World Heavyweight Championship match between Jey Uso and Logan Paul is also set to entertain fans at the WWE Saturday Night Main Event. The match allows Paul to bag his first world championship crown after enjoying recent WWE scraps against Uso. The 30-year-old decked Uso at Raw with his huge right hand and left the scene triumphant, making it the fourth time he has laid his opponent out. It should be an intense game as Uso puts his championship on the line. In another game, CM Punk will join hands with Sami Zayn to battle it out in a Tag Team match against Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. The elements are combining well for what could be a clash full of chaotic scenes, leading to a potentially entertaining end with potential third-party interference from Uso. A Steel-Cage match between Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre rounds off the main event full card as the two stars prepare for another brutal match. Priest and McIntyre were involved in an intense game at WrestleMania 41, and the WWE has now attempted to reignite the spat for the fans. Which TV channels will broadcast the WWE Saturday Night Main Event Matches? The WWE Saturday Night Main Event will not be televised in India due to the lack of an official broadcaster. Braun Strowman, Shayna Baszler among WWE cuts in pre-SmackDown stunner
On Friday, WWE underwent its semi-regular spring cleaning, releasing some big names from the roster. The company initiated a series of roster cuts that affected several main roster and NXT talents, marking the most eye-popping wave of releases so far this year — though it's not an uncommon occurrence shortly after WrestleMania, which concluded two weeks ago. Among the most notable names let go from the main roster were mainstays Braun Strowman, Shayna Baszler and Dakota Kai. Additionally, Kayden Carter, Katana Chance, Cora Jade and all of Gallus, which includes Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang. 3 Braun Strowman has been released as part of the WWE's 'spring cleaning' cuts. WWE via Getty Images Strowman is far and away the biggest name being let go from the company. His second run now comes to an end after he re-joined the WWE three years ago. Strowman is a former Universal Champion and Intercontinental Champion who was once on a meteoric rise to seemingly becoming one of WWE's biggest stars. Baszler, a former NXT Women's Champion and two-time Women's Tag Team Champion, had been active on both Raw and SmackDown in recent years. 3 Shayna Baszler is a former MMA fighter and two-time NXT Women's Champion. WWE via Getty Images While Baszler never rose to true stardom on the main roster as she did previously, she is most known for her run on NXT as one of the company's biggest stars in the women's division, and, to this day, the former mixed martial artist held the NXT Women's Title for the most days in company history. 'No one can offer what I have to offer. Reality. Let the Galaxy burn,' Baszler posted on X in response to her release. 3 Cora Jade, 24, was among the youngest wrestlers cut on Friday. WWE via Getty Images Kai was a member of Damage CTRL and was a tag team champion both on the main roster and in NXT. Other names later surfaced, including Gigi Dolin, Oro Mensah and Riley Osborne of NXT. Jade posted her email following news of her release, suggesting she'll be open for bookings. Most released talent are subjected to a 90-day non-compete clause for main roster performers, and 30 days for NXT talent, as standard in WWE contracts.

Recently, Thatcher has been competing on the newly relaunched WWE Evolve show and is reportedly involved behind the scenes as a trainer and coach within the WWE ID developmental program. Thatcher was known for his "Thatch-as-Thatch-Can" segments, a brief NXT Tag Team Title reign alongside Matt Riddle, and alliances with figures like Tommaso Ciampa. Before joining WWE, Thatcher established himself as a top independent star, holding the EVOLVE Championship for 596 days and starring in Germany's wXw as part of the Ringkampf stable with Gunther. Since his WWE release, he has primarily competed in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH, capturing the GHC Tag Team Championship twice. He will do so next week, competing in a high-stakes battle royal to determine the next challenger for the NXT Championship. Following NXT Champion Oba Femi's successful title defense at Stand & Deliver, NXT announced on last night's broadcast (April 29th) that a 25-man number one contender battle royal will take place on next week's episode. The winner of this massive bout will earn the right to challenge Femi for the NXT Championship at the WWE Battleground premium live event on May 25th in Tampa, Florida. While competitors like Trick Williams, who is seeking another opportunity to regain the title, are confirmed, the inclusion of Timothy Thatcher has generated buzz among fans. This marks Thatcher's first match on NXT TV programming since August 2021. The submission specialist was released from his WWE contract in January 2022, roughly two years after his initial debut with the brand in April 2020.
