Samantha Prabhu shows why it is necessary to take a toxin test: ‘The results…Honestly shocking'

In today's fast-paced world, our bodies are constantly exposed to environmental pollutants, chemicals in processed foods, heavy metals, and lifestyle-related toxins. Over time, these can accumulate in the body, leading to fatigue, hormonal imbalances, digestive problems, skin issues, and even chronic illnesses. This is where a toxin test plays an important role, helping you understand how well your body is managing and eliminating toxins. Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently took to social media to share her experience of getting a toxin test done. 'You all know I live and breathe health…. I've been eating clean, working out, and being mindful of what goes on my skin. But recently, after my Take 20 episode on toxins, I decided to get a toxin test done myself,' she mentioned in the caption of her Instagram post, adding: 'The results? Honestly shocking. * My toxin levels were way higher than I expected * Especially mold toxins (like aflatoxins) * Plus some heavy metals' For someone who takes wellness seriously, Prabhu admitted that it was humbling to see that no one is immune. 'This isn't to scare you. It's a reminder that sometimes, even when we try our best, hidden exposures can creep in,' she said. The Family Man actor detailed that her next steps include working with her doctor on a safe and structured detox, tracking her progress, and retesting to check the effectiveness of the protocols. turned to Dr BA Chaurasia, Consultant, Internal Medicine, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai, to learn more about a toxin test and when you should get it done. 'A toxin test is a medical assessment that measures the levels of harmful substances in your body. These may include heavy metals (like lead, mercury, and arsenic), pesticides, chemicals from plastics, and even byproducts of poor digestion or metabolism,' said Dr Chaurasia, adding that it usually involves a blood, urine, or hair sample to identify toxin build-up and evaluate the efficiency of your body's detoxification process. While routine health check-ups are essential, Dr Chaurasia said that a toxin test becomes particularly important if you: Doctors may also recommend toxin testing if you are planning a pregnancy, as toxins can affect fertility and healthy development in babies. Toxins affect everyone, regardless of gender, but the impact may differ. For Women: Toxins can disrupt hormonal balance, leading to menstrual irregularities, fertility issues, or complications during pregnancy. They may also contribute to conditions like PCOS and thyroid dysfunction. For Men: Toxin exposure can reduce testosterone levels, affect sperm quality, and contribute to reduced stamina, muscle strength, and metabolic health. Since both men and women are equally vulnerable to environmental and lifestyle toxins, testing ensures early detection and personalised detox strategies to prevent long-term health complications. A toxin test isn't just for those already unwell, it's a proactive step in preventive healthcare. By identifying hidden toxin overload, it empowers individuals to make dietary, lifestyle, and medical changes that improve energy, fertility, immunity, and overall well-being. With increasing exposure to pollutants in daily life, toxin testing is becoming a vital health check for men and women alike. Learn more about these regular, everyday toxins that are putting your life at risk.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu Opens Up About Keeping Things "As Real As Possible" On Social Media, Urges Fans To Be Kind

For Samantha Ruth Prabhu, being "real" is what truly counts. Bold and confident, she is unabashed in showcasing her authentic self. The Khushi actor recently turned cover girl for Grazia magazine, making heads turn with her slew of fashionable looks. The 38-year-old revealed that one hard pill she had to swallow was being as kind to herself as she is to others. Elaborating on the topic, Samantha Ruth Prabhu said, "I try to keep it as real as possible, and I hope I'm doing a good enough job of that. I think that it's important to be authentic on social media, along with taking those breaks and keeping a safe distance from it all." The actress, who was diagnosed with Myositis - an autoimmune condition, has been open in talking about the medical condition, on par with sharing mental health updates and digital detox practices for holistic well-being. Back in July, Samantha Ruth Prabhu talked about her phone addiction and how she overcame the habit. "I couldn't control this relationship with my phone, which I was starting to question again, and this false sense of importance that 'It's my work and it has to be done'," she shared in her health podcast Take 20 with health coach Ryan Fernando. To break the unhealthy habit, Samantha Ruth Prabhu "went on a silent retreat for three days without phone, no communication, no eye contact, no reading, no writing, no stimulation of any kind,' which she found to be a 'humbling experience." Her key takeaway from the detox phase was, "So much of my ego is connected to my phone. Who I am, how important I am, what I have achieved, and when it isn't there, you are just another living thing, like a worm, a bird. Nothing at all. Just going to live, you're going to be born, live and die, as simple as that. Phone creates so much of an artificial existence for you." Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who was last seen in the Prime Video series Citadel: Honey Bunny opposite Varun Dhawan, believes in leading a healthy life and encourges her Insta fam to do the same.
