Sleep Token Score First ARIA No. 1 Album with ‘Even In Arcadia'
Sleep Token have claimed their first-ever No. 1 album in Australia, as Even In Arcadia debuts at the summit of the ARIA Albums Chart. The masked U.K. rock act previously peaked at No. 3 in 2023 with Take Me Back to Eden. Coming in just behind them is local indie-rock royalty Spacey Jane, who debut at No. 2 with If That Makes Sense. The Perth band continues their hot streak, following a No. 2 placement for Sunlight in 2020 and a No. 1 for Here Comes Everybody in 2022. Spacey Jane also took home Song of the Year at the 2021 ARIA Awards for their breakout hit 'Booster Seat.' The album previously topped the ARIA chart in February, marking his fifth No. 1 in Australia. Aussie legends INXS also return to the chart with the 40th anniversary reissue of Listen Like Thieves, landing at No. 17. The 1985 classic spent two weeks at No. 1 during its original run and remains one of five chart-toppers for the band. On the ARIA Singles Chart, Alex Warren holds strong at No. 1 for an eighth consecutive week with 'Ordinary,' now officially the longest-running chart-topper of 2025. It overtakes the seven-week reign of 'APT.' by Rosé and Bruno Mars, which also dominated the chart across late 2024. Meanwhile, Jessie Murph enters the top 20 for the first time in Australia with 'Blue Strips,' which climbs from No. 31 to No. 17. It follows her 2023 chart debut with 'High Road,' a collaboration with Koe Wetzel. ARIA's Vinyl Albums Chart sees Sleep Token, Spacey Jane, and INXS all appear again, reflecting strong physical sales across the board. Wide awake in Arcadia. Sleep Token rouse even jaded ears on new album
How big are Sleep Token going to become? That's the question that arises with every listen to Even in Arcadia, the most-anticipated stadium-sized metal album of 2025. For fans, the two-year wait for the follow-up to 2023's Take Me Back to Eden has been worth the seemingly never-ending countdown, and Even in Arcadia showcases remarkable nous in terms of dynamics, working diverse influences into a sound, and adding to the mystique that has played such a big part in the English outfit's success to date. Masked and majestic, Sleep Token juxtapose crushing riffage with moments of what-just-happened? beauty, exemplified by recent singles Emergence and Caramel and the title track. Indeed, the piano is arguably as big a part of this record's allure as the guitars. Lights on or off, from left turns - R&B, emo, and even nods to Pink Floyd are part of the package - to a-life-laid-bare lyrics, there is a lot to unpack here, and Even in Arcadia feels like it should be played start to finish at home and at the shows ahead to do everyone justice. For an older listener, it's a boon to hear the LP treated with such reverence as an art form. Those same ears may conclude that there is a little too much going at times, but how life-affirming it is to hear an outfit swinging for the fences amid rapid fame and, crucially, instilling the belief that their best is still ahead.

After weeks of teases, Sleep Token announces new album and Target Center show
After weeks of cryptic teases, Sleep Token has revealed what fans suspected. The melodic British metal group will release its fourth album, Even in Arcadia, in May and will head out on a 17-date North American tour in support of the release. The new music arrives on May 9, months before the fall tour brings them to the Target Center in Minneapolis. Even in Arcadia is the follow-up to 2023's breakout, Take Me Back to Eden, which saw the band transform from a unique act with a loyal following to a festival headliner. (They're headlining the Louder Than Life fest alongside bands like Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold, Deftones, and Rob Zombie.) Sleep Token's tour will get going on Sept. 16 in Duluth... Georgia. But it'll make its way to Minnesota on Oct. 1 when the theatrical metal outfit lands at the Target Center. Along with the tour dates, Sleep Token shared "Emergence," the first taste of Even in Arcadia. Tickets are on sale to the public Friday, March 21 at 10 a.m.
