Yahoo16-05-2025
Sleep Token have claimed their first-ever No. 1 album in Australia, as Even In Arcadia debuts at the summit of the ARIA Albums Chart. The masked U.K. rock act previously peaked at No. 3 in 2023 with Take Me Back to Eden.
Coming in just behind them is local indie-rock royalty Spacey Jane, who debut at No. 2 with If That Makes Sense. The Perth band continues their hot streak, following a No. 2 placement for Sunlight in 2020 and a No. 1 for Here Comes Everybody in 2022. Spacey Jane also took home Song of the Year at the 2021 ARIA Awards for their breakout hit 'Booster Seat.'

Elsewhere in the top 10, The Weeknd's Hurry Up Tomorrow rockets back into the top tier, surging from No. 78 to No. 10 following the release of its Complete Edition. The album previously topped the ARIA chart in February, marking his fifth No. 1 in Australia.
Aussie legends INXS also return to the chart with the 40th anniversary reissue of Listen Like Thieves, landing at No. 17. The 1985 classic spent two weeks at No. 1 during its original run and remains one of five chart-toppers for the band.
On the ARIA Singles Chart, Alex Warren holds strong at No. 1 for an eighth consecutive week with 'Ordinary,' now officially the longest-running chart-topper of 2025. It overtakes the seven-week reign of 'APT.' by Rosé and Bruno Mars, which also dominated the chart across late 2024.
Meanwhile, Jessie Murph enters the top 20 for the first time in Australia with 'Blue Strips,' which climbs from No. 31 to No. 17. It follows her 2023 chart debut with 'High Road,' a collaboration with Koe Wetzel.
ARIA's Vinyl Albums Chart sees Sleep Token, Spacey Jane, and INXS all appear again, reflecting strong physical sales across the board.

Ed Sheeran's New Single Misses In America — Here's Why

Ed Sheeran is barreling toward the release of his upcoming album Play, which is set to drop September 12. The singer-songwriter has been releasing singles from the project throughout much of 2025, and his latest, 'A Little More,' gets off to something of a disappointing start on the Billboard charts — but that doesn't mean it's not destined for greatness. 'A Little More' Debuts on Billboard's Global Charts 'A Little More' arrives on a trio of Billboard tallies this week. The song opens at No. 73 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and at No. 75 on the Billboard Global 200 – two worldwide rankings that combine streams and sales to show what the human race is listening to. Sheeran has scored 40 wins on the list that removes all consumption from America and 39 on the Billboard Global 200. Ed Sheeran's New Song Misses the Hot 100 Somewhat surprisingly, even as 'A Little More' becomes a worldwide hit, it misses the Hot 100 in America entirely. That tally looks at the most consumed songs in the U.S. 'A Little More' does make it to the Bubbling Under Hot 100, which operates as a 25-spot extension of the main roster, but only for tunes that haven't yet made it to the Hot 100. 'A Little More' opens at No. 7 on that list. 'A Little More' Could Soon Gain Everywhere Sheeran remains one of the most famous names in the global music industry, and he can be counted on to make it to the Hot 100 pretty much whenever he delivers new singles. So why then did 'A Little More' reach Billboard's global lists but not the Hot 100? Sheeran dropped 'A Little More' off-cycle, on Thursday, August 7. The new tracking week begins on Friday, so if songs and albums want a full seven days in which to rack up sales and streams and impact the Billboard charts, they need to become commercially available on Friday. Sheeran decided to buck that tradition and make 'A Little More' available hours before a new frame began. That means his latest Play single becomes a worldwide hit and almost reaches the Hot 100 off of just a few hours of activity. Next week, when Billboard refreshes its rankings, it's likely that 'A Little More' will make it to not only the Hot 100, but perhaps several other rankings, including the Digital Song Sales, Radio Songs, and Streaming Songs charts. It could also become another pop radio favorite. 'Azizam,' 'Old Phone' and 'Sapphire' Three singles preceded 'A Little More,' and all of the Play cuts made it to the Hot 100, though none of them have climbed to the same heights of many of Sheeran's past smashes. 'Azizam' is the biggest of the bunch, and it peaked at No. 28. 'Old Phone' and 'Sapphire' stalled in the lower rungs of the roster, only lifting to Nos. 89 and 74, respectively.

Selena Gomez Charts A New No. 1 Hit In America

It's been less than half a year since Selena Gomez released her latest album I Said I Love You First, a collaborative project with her fiancé Benny Blanco, who has enjoyed great commercial success as a producer and songwriter. The alternative and acoustic pop project did not turn out to be as huge as many of her past sets, and the title only lived on the Billboard charts for a handful of frames before disappearing entirely. The album may be gone, but one of its songs has enjoyed a surprisingly lengthy life on a handful of tallies in the United States. Months after I Said I Love You First underwhelmed, Gomez, Blanco, and one of their collaborators score a new champion. 'Ojos Tristes' Jumps to No. 1 Gomez rises to No. 1 on the Latin Pop Airplay chart. Her single 'Ojos Tristes,' which also credits Blanco and the band The Marías, lifts from No. 2 to the top spot 17 weeks into its time on the radio roster. Selena Gomez Earns Her Third No. 1 'Ojos Tristes' marks Gomez's third No. 1 on the Latin Pop Airplay list. While Gomez is primarily known for her English-language, top 40-leaning pop sound, she has scored several wins in the Latin space before. She first led the charge back in 2018 with 'Taki Taki,' which was produced by DJ Snake and also featured Ozuna and Cardi B. Three years later, she joined Rauw Alejandro on the track 'Baila Conmigo.' 'Ojos Tristes' earned both Blanco and The Marías their inaugural leader on the Latin Pop Airplay list. Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's Several Radio Hits Gomez and Blanco have reached Latin Pop Airplay together previously, as several years ago they collaborated on Blanco's tune 'I Can't Get Enough.' That cut, which also featured Tainy and J Balvin, worked its way to No. 14 back in 2019, though it did spend one more frame on the list when compared to 'Ojos Tristes,' at least so far. Gomez has earned 15 career appearances on the Latin Pop Airplay list, including with several of her general pop favorites such as 'Come & Get It,' 'Same Old Love,' 'The Heart Wants What It Wants,' and 'We Don't Talk Anymore' alongside Charlie Puth. 'Ojos Tristes' Leads Multiple Billboard Charts 'Ojos Tristes' remains the big hit on several of Billboard's Latin rankings months into its tenure. As it climbs to No. 1 on the Latin Pop Airplay chart, the single reaches a new high on the Latin Airplay list, ascending from No. 6 to No. 3. The tune once again leads the Hot Latin Pop Songs roster and improves to No. 18 on the general consumption Hot Latin Songs list.

One Band Replaces Several Ozzy Osbourne Songs At No. 1

A little over a year ago, Bad Omens released its fourth full-length and first compilation, Concrete Jungle. The project accompanied a graphic novel, so it was also considered a soundtrack of sorts. A little over a year after dropping that project, which became a strong performer on a handful of Billboard's rock and hard rock rankings, Bad Omens is moving on to what's next with a new single titled 'Specter.' The brand new tune opens at No. 1 on a handful of rankings in the United States, and as it arrives, it pushes several tunes by the late, great Ozzy Osbourne off of the throne. Bad Omens Debuts 'Specter' at No. 1 Bad Omens debuts 'Specter' at No. 1 on a quartet of Billboard charts. The tune opens in first place on the Hot Hard Rock Songs tally, a general consumption ranking that blends sales, radio airplay, and streaming activity. The cut also manages to enter both the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales, Alternative Digital Song Sales and Rock Digital Song Sales lists at No. 1 as well. 'Mama, I'm Coming Home' Falls to No. 2 Bad Omens replaces Osbourne's 'Mama, I'm Coming Home' on both the Rock Digital Song Sales and Hard Rock Digital Song Sales charts. 'Mama, I'm Coming Home' led both purchase-only lists just days ago, and this frame it drops to the runner-up space on the two tallies. 'Crazy Train' Disappears Entirely The heavy metal band also manages to push Osbourne out of the top spot on the Hot Hard Rock Songs tally. Last week, the late superstar commanded the lead not with 'Mama, I'm Coming Home,' but with 'Crazy Train.' Just a short time ago, 'Crazy Train' ranked as the biggest hard rock smash in America, but at the moment it no longer appears anywhere on the 25-spot ranking, as it experiences a somewhat surprising tumble. Bad Omens Charts a Debut No. 1 Hit As 'Specter' arrives, Bad Omens earns its first winner on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart. The group has now scored a pair of champions on both the Hot Hard Rock Songs and Alternative Digital Song Sales lists, where Osbourne was not running the show last week. 'Specter' gives Bad Omens a third leader on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales tally, and the tune manages to open in lofty positions on several other Billboard rankings, including the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, Hot Rock Songs, and Digital Song Sales charts at the same time.
