Wendy's is spicing up its menu with two new items — but they won't stick around. Fans can get their first bites of the new Takis Fuego Meal starting Friday, June 20, at participating Wendy's restaurants nationwide, according to the Ohio-based burger chain. Wendy's teamed up with the Takis snack brand to launch the limited-time meal, which includes the new Takis Fuego chicken sandwich and Fuego fries. Made with a Wendy's spicy chicken filet, the sandwich features crushed Takis Fuego chips, chili lime sauce, a creamy corn spread and cheese sauce, a product description says. Customers can pair it with a side of Fuego fries tossed in a chili lime blend. The meal also comes with a 1-ounce bag of Takis Fuego corn chips, while supplies last, the restaurant said. Pricing information wasn't immediately available. Wendy's teased a collaboration with the Takis snack brand in March, along with plans to grow its chicken offerings. The restaurant serves a range of chicken options from classic nuggets to a crispy chicken BLT, according to its menu. Wendy's and Takis have teamed up to turn up the heat this summer. The fast food chain announced Tuesday, June 17 it has collaborated with Takis on a limited-time meal called the Takis Fuego Meal. The meal features the Takis Fuego Chicken Sandwich and Takis-inspired Fuego Fries, according to Wendy's. The items will be available at Wendy's restaurants in the United States beginning June 20 and in Canadian locations starting June 30. The Takis Fuego Chicken Sandwich combines Wendy's spicy chicken filet with crushed Takis Fuego chips, chili lime sauce, creamy corn spread and a cheddar cheese sauce to create a "one-of-a-kind sandwich that is equal parts spicy, crunch and savory," Wendy's said in a news release. Something major could be coming to Wendy's in the very near future and it promises to bring some serious heat. If you're a fan of Takis, you may want to have a seat for this one. According to a post made this week by food influencer @markie_devo, Wendy's recently teased fans with news of a Takis Fuego Meal. In the comments section to @markie_devo's post, fans are pretty mixed in their reactions to the fiery news. One person pointed out that a Takis collab just doesn't seem like a good fit for Wendy's.
