Steps to ensure safe return of citizens from Iran
Muscat: In light of ongoing regional developments, the Sultanate of Oman continues to intensify efforts to secure the safe return of its citizens from areas affected by escalating tensions Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to providing round-the-clock assistance to Omani citizens wishing to return home. He noted that the ministry has allocated dedicated communication lines for citizens in both Muscat and Tehran according to their geographic location, in addition to providing support via the ministry's official app and WhatsApp channels.
The minister's remarks came within the framework of continued consultations with his counterparts in countries regarding the ongoing Israeli military aggression against Iran and its grave security repercussions on the regional scene.
In a statement, Sayyid Badr stressed the importance of intensifying diplomatic and political pressure at the international level to end this unlawful and irresponsible aggression, and to uphold the principles of international law in support of peace, security and stability.
According to a statement by the ministry, all Omani nationals currently in Shiraz and nearby areas are requested to gather at the designated assembly point in the city on Sunday. This is in preparation for their transfer to Bandar Abbas.
The assembly point in Shiraz is located at the intersection of Roudhki and Ferdowsi streets, opposite the Sorena Hotel and the Talar Hotel. The ministry has also provided a direct contact number for assistance in Shiraz.
The statement further called upon Omani citizens residing in or near Bandar Abbas to proceed directly to one of the designated gathering points in the city by 3:00 pm (local time) for onward coordination.
The ministry extended its gratitude to all Omani citizens for their cooperation and urged them to adhere to the stated times and locations.
