Over 32K perform yoga to pay tribute to saint-poet Annamacharya
Annamayya district administration on Monday launched a massive yoga camp to commemorate the 617th birth anniversary of saint-poet Tallapaka Annamacharya at Tallapaka, the birthplace of the saint. As many as 617 participants performed yoga asanas near the 108-ft statue of Annamacharya on the Chennai-Nagpur National Highway. The session was organised as part of the State government's month-long Yogandhra-2025 initiative. As a tribute to Tallapaka Annamacharya, over 32,000 people performed yoga postures at various villages, mandal headquarters, and divisions across the district. Emphasizing the positive impact of yoga on physical, mental, and emotional well-being, Collector Sridhar Chamakuri felt that yoga must be made a part of daily life to build a healthier society. The camp commenced with devotional renditions of Annamacharya's popular sankeertanas. Yoga Guru Ranganatha Reddy started the session, guiding participants through various modes of yoga, including asanas, meditation, and affirmations. Rajampeta MLA Akeapati Amarnath Reddy and senior officials from the district and mandal level took part in the event.

Annamayya Sankeertans should be on YouTube: TTD EO
Tirupati: The Sankeertans penned by saint poet Tallapaka Annamacharya should be made available on Youtube so that they will reach the youth, said TTD EO J Syamala Rao. A review meeting was held in the Meeting Hall of TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati on Thursday evening with the officials of various departments. He said that a committee should be formed with experts and arrangements should be made to quickly upload these Sankeertans on YouTube with their advice and suggestions. Engineering officials were instructed to complete the engineering works underway in various areas of Tirupati with a time frame. Similarly, during the summer, the EO directed the officials to take necessary precautions in the wake of summer vacation pilgrim rush to local temples. Later the EO reviewed on SVETA, Medical, Education, SVIMS, Marketing and all Dharmic Projects also. JEO Veerabrahmam, Vedic University VC Rani Sadashiva murthy F&CAO Balaji, and other officials participated in this meeting.
