Aussie biscuit hailed ‘10/10' is finally available in the UK

In March 2024, the UK was treated to 'Aussie gold' as a snack from down under made its way onto supermarket shelves. Tim Tams, which feature crunchy biscuit and a cream filling all covered in a smooth chocolatey coating, launched here for the very first time, landing in Waitrose. Prior to this, Australians had been enjoying the sweet treat since 1964, when it was introduced by biscuit company Arnott's. In the UK, Tim Tams have been sold in original, dark chocolate and chewy caramel flavours over the last year, but now a new flavour has hit the market and it's one fans have hailed as '10/10', 'a dream' and 'the best'. Shoppers at Tesco can now get their hands on Sweet & Salty Tim Tam biscuits – a unique product inspired by another iconic Australian snack. Those who can't choose between sweet and savoury foods won't have to as these combine the classic Tim Tam fillings, with a savoury cracker nestled between the layers. In Australia, these crackers are inspired by Jatz biscuits, also made by Arnott's, which look rather similar to a Ritz biscuit. The Sweet & Salty flavour first began as an April Fools prank on social media, that caused such a stir that Tim Tam made it the real deal in 2024. Finally, the product has made its way here, with limited-edition packs selling for £2.50 in Tesco supermarkets, while stocks last. Talyah Falabella, Tim Tam International Marketing Manager, says: 'Tim Tam has been Australia's favourite chocolatey biscuit for over 60 years, and we're excited to bring this new, even more irresistible flavour combination to the UK. 'This biscuit was originally inspired by an April Fools' prank on social that went viral. The demand from consumers to make this into a real product was so high we just had to make it a reality.; She added: 'Tim Tam Sweet & Salty provides the ultimate indulgence for sweet and salty lovers to enjoy by combining 2 favourite flavours together to create one irresistible biscuit.' On Instagram, a user named @staceye__50w said: 'Seriously the best Tim Tam I have ever had 10/10.' More Trending While over on Reddit, u/oldMiseryGuts posted: 'This is my dream biscuit.' New flavour of iconic chocolate biscuit is landing in all Tesco stores TODAY – but you'll have to be speedy

A NEW flavour of a beloved snack is now available for a limited time only. Australia's popular Tim Tam biscuits have released a new flavour for a limited run - available while stocks last. 3 The treat from Down Under only reached UK stores last year - and Brits have been obsessed since. Its new sweet and salty flavour promises to satisfy your cravings, whether you have a sweet tooth or you're looking for a salty kick. The innovative flavour combines their iconic chocolate layers, now with a salted cracker between them. A description for the product reads: "Fancy something sweet but also in the mood for something savoury? Well, Tim Tam Sweet & Salty is here to satisfy both of your cravings in one irresistible bite!" With a twist on the classic chocolate biscuit, it now features a salted cracker nestled between the chocolatey layers. The idea for the snack was originally just an April Fool's Day idea. But consumers loved it so much the company decided to make it a reality. The new flavour launched in the UK exclusively at Tesco today. A pack of nine biscuits costs just £2.50. Shoppers will have to be quick if they want to try out the innovative snack, as it is only available while stocks last. "Tim Tam Sweet & Salty provides the ultimate indulgence for sweet and salty lovers to enjoy by combining two favourite flavours together to create one irresistible biscuit.' Earlier this year, the UK celebrated Tim Tam Day alongside Australia for the first time on February 16. Its classic flavour is similar to Britain's Penguin biscuits, featuring two chocolate biscuits sandwiched together with a smooth chocolate cream, all wrapped in a thick layer of chocolate. The snack is also available in a dark, or chewy caramel flavour. Over the years, they've become a household staple in Australia, with fans calling them the ultimate tea-time treat. It's not the first time UK shoppers have gone wild for Australian snacks they spotted on shelves. Shoppers have been going wild for a Cadbury selection box full of Australian chocolate favourites usually unavailable in the UK. They include Dairy Milk white chocolate Freddos, Scorched Peanut Bars, Snickers Butterscotch, Caramilk Twirls and regular Dairy Milk milk chocolate bars. Last year, others yelled "it's a party in my mouth" as B&M rolled out a new M&M flavour normally only seen in the land down under. The retailer is stocking a Mocha Mudcake version of the classic snack after launching it down under in July last year. Now the quirky flavour has landed in B&M, with shoppers keen to snap it up. 3
