Youth leader commits to service and community growth
Tamara Barnwell is a young leader who has shown consistent dedication to education, community work, and youth development. With a history of academic excellence and volunteer service, both locally and abroad, she has built a profile grounded in commitment and service.

Since July 2024, Barnwell has been serving as secretary of the youth crime prevention desk in Norwood, an initiative co-ordinated by the South African Police Service and the Community Policing Forum. In this role she helps with the planning and administration of workshops, school talks, and community events, all aimed at raising awareness and promoting safety among young people.
Her community service is supported by a strong academic background. From excelling in her school years to pursuing studies in criminology and security sciences, Barnwell has consistently worked to combine her education with practical experience.
She has also extended her efforts to volunteer work abroad, participating in international projects that focus on education and community development. These experiences have added to her leadership journey and deepened her passion for working with others.
