KARACHI: The Government of Pakistan has announced the conferment of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz upon renowned physician, humanitarian, and cultural ambassador Dr. Mansoor Memon in recognition of his long-standing services to the nation. The announcement was made on Independence Day, August 14, 2025. The award will be formally presented to him on Pakistan Day, March 23, 2026. Dr. Memon is widely regarded as Pakistan's 'Ambassador-at-Large' across the globe, owing to his outstanding contributions in promoting the country's positive image internationally. His journey reflects a steadfast commitment to visionary leadership and public service. A graduate of the Aga Khan University of Health Sciences (March 1992), he has earned international acclaim as a physician, researcher, philanthropist, and leader. Dr. Mansoor Memon's life stands as a shining example of excellence, compassion, and patriotism. F-Class shooter Mohsin Nawaz honoured with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's F-Class long-range shooting ace, Mohsin Nawaz, has been conferred the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the sport and a series of remarkable international achievements. President Asif Ali Zardari announced the honor, which will be officially presented at the Pakistan Day investiture ceremony on March 23, 2026, at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. Nawaz, honored in the sports category, joins other distinguished athletes whose accomplishments have elevated Pakistan's profile globally. Hailing from Faisalabad and also a seasoned sports psychologist, Nawaz has been instrumental in putting Pakistan on the world map of competitive shooting. His recent feats include winning silver in the Day One Aggregate and bronze in the 1000-yard event at the 2024 European Long Range Shooting Championship, alongside a top 15 overall ranking. He also secured silver in the 300 yards category at the 2024 F Class Imperial Championship, placing in the top eight overall. These victories brought his international medal tally to 10—making him the first Pakistani civilian to medal in these European categories. Nawaz's breakthrough came in 2023 when he won silver at the European Long Range Shooting Championship, equaling the European record at 800 yards. Earlier, he dominated the 2022 Western Bisley Long Range Championship with three gold and two silver medals, and earned podium finishes at major events in the USA, South Africa, and Europe since 2016. In a testament to his stature, Nawaz holds lifetime memberships with both the National Rifle Association (NRA) UK and USA and is Pakistan's first holder of NRA USA mid and long-range classifications. He also serves as brand ambassador for KAHLES Sports Optics and Peregrine Bullets, and is actively working to develop Pakistan's shooting infrastructure, mentor emerging talent, and advocate for policy reforms in the sport. With eyes now set on the 2026 World Championship, Nawaz's journey continues to inspire a new generation of Pakistani marksmen—cementing his legacy as one of the nation's most accomplished shooters. KARACHI: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) hosted a reception in honour of Pakistan's national hockey team on their outstanding achievement of reaching the final of the FIH Nations Cup, marking a significant milestone in the country's hockey resurgence. The national team delivered a thrilling performance against France, securing a dramatic 3-2 victory in the penalty shootout to earn their place in the championship final of this prestigious tournament on the FIH calendar. NBP takes particular pride in recognizing the exceptional contributions of its own players and officials who have been instrumental in the national team's success throughout this tournament. Ammad Shakeel Butt, recipient of the President award, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and current captain of the Pakistan National Hockey Team, and player Junaid Manzoor have demonstrated outstanding skill and commitment on the field, while the coaching staff led by Head Coach Tahir Zaman, supported by Assistant Coaches Asif Ahmed Khan and Zeeshan Ashraf, and Goalkeeping Coach Mazhar Abbas, all valued members of NBP's hockey programme, have provided exemplary leadership and expertise that has been crucial to Pakistan's impressive run. An event was held at the NBP Head Office to honour the teams' success, where President and CEO NBP Rehmat Ali Hasnie graced the occasion, appreciated the players' outstanding efforts and presented shields in recognition. NBP Hockey players appreciated the recognition, viewing it as a motivating factor for their growth and development and thanked CEO NBP and management enabling them to excel and proudly represent the country on international platforms. CJCSC confers civil awards

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Deputy Chairman Development Control Committee and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), on Tuesday conferred civil awards on 47 eminent scientists and engineers serving under the National Command Authority for their meritorious services. According to the ISPR, the investiture ceremony, held at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi, was conducted on behalf of the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Among the recipients, 10 officers were awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz, 21 received the President's Award for Pride of Performance, and 16 were honored with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.

Listen to article President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday conferred Tamgha-e-Imtiaz on Amin Lakhani, the honorary consul general of Singapore, in recognition of his meritorious services to Pakistan, and for strengthening the relations between the two countries. Lakhani received the award from the president at the awards ceremony held at Aiwan Sadr on the occasion of Pakistan Day. For 35 years, Lakhani, as honorary consul general, has been playing important role in promoting relations between Pakistan and Singapore. Besides, Lakhani has represented Pakistan in many fields, including economic, cultural and education. Because of his efforts, bilateral trade and business increased and visa issuance for the Pakistanis became easier. His efforts led to the issuance of Singaporean visa to 200,000 Pakistanis.
