Vehicle hits 3 cows on N2, motorist uninjured
Less than a minute Tamlyn Cramer Less than a minute A woman was lucky to escape unscathed after hitting three cows on the N2 earlier today (Tuesday). The accident occurred on the southbound carriageway in the Fairbreeze vicinity. She was reportedly en route to Stanger when the three cows wandered into the roadway. Mounties EMS attended the scene, where paramedics assessed the motorist. While she got away without any injuries, the woman's vehicle was extensively damaged in the collision. Don't have the ZO app? Two die in Empangeni crash
Less than a minute Tamlyn Cramer Less than a minute Two die in Empangeni crash Two people lost their lives in a single-vehicle accident in Empangeni on Friday night. The crash occurred shortly after midnight on Main Road, between Biyela and Maxwell streets. According to reports from the scene, the vehicle was travelling from the CBD towards the Rail when it veered off the road and crashed into a tree. Video footage shared widely on social media shows a hippo grazing on a piece of ground in the town when three people ventured too close. Feeling threatened, the hippo reacted defensively and charged them. Attempting to run away, the group is knocked to the ground, and the hippo escapes. While the people appear to have got away unscathed, it is hoped they developed a newfound respect for wildlife.
