Milan Kick Off Tare Era with a Rendezvous with Roma
Milan officially ushered in Igli Tare on Monday, and his first transfer market-related summit was with the Roma hierarchy to discuss Tammy Abraham and Alexis Saelemaekers, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. The Giallorossi seem keener on keeping the Belgian winger permanently, but the counterparty has appreciated the striker's contribution and could retain him under the right circumstances. Advertisement The first summit between Milan and Roma wasn't decisive, but the teams will stay in touch to examine a solution. The Rossoneri are waiting for a formal offer from Manchester City for Tijjani Reijnders. As for the coach, their choice depends on situations beyond their control. They'd quickly swoop in for Vincenzo Italiano if he and Bologna didn't agree to a renewal. Plus, they are behind Napoli and Inter in the race to appoint Massimiliano Allegri. At this stage, Thiago Motta is the most concrete fallback. They pursued him before Juventus snapped him up last summer. Sergio Conceiçao hasn't been formally informed that he's out, and Tare likes him, but his permanence remains unlikely. Our Take on Milan It's too early for them to decide on the players, as that will come after the gaffer and based upon his indications. Roma were trying to be slick. Keeping Saelemaekers would be a no-brainer with Motta and would come in handy for a few other tacticians. They don't need both Luka Jovic and Abraham, and the latter is too expensive to be a deputy and isn't better than Santiago Gimenez. The former Juventus manager needs a much quieter environment and a multi-year project to have a shot at succeeding. They aren't the right team for that.

Hooray! Keir Starmer says Britain's safe for 99 more years
Earlier this week, in the House of Commons, Sir Keir Starmer took great pleasure in congratulating himself on his recent 'hat-trick of deals'. Well now he's gone one better. India, the United States, the EU — and now Mauritius, which, thanks to Starmer's ruthless finishing, has bagged itself a new archipelago called the Chagos Islands, only 1,300 miles away. The deal puts the prime minister in a truly exclusive club. Starmer has now matched a feat that only Chelsea's Tammy Abraham had ever done before, in 2019, when he scored four goals in one game and the fourth went into the wrong net. Still, the deal is done. The Chagos Islands, home to a US-UK airbase of immense strategic importance, have been handed over

Abraham is currently tied to Roma by a contract expiring on June 30, 2026. The next transfer window will therefore be decisive to understand if his path will continue away from the capital.

Mourinho wants Abraham reunion at Fenerbahce after Roma adventure
Tammy Abraham's future remains up in the air after his Milan loan, with reports Jose Mourinho wants a reunion with his ex-Roma striker at Fenerbahce. The English striker moved to San Siro last summer on a dry loan, with Alexis Saelemaekers going the other way, meaning there is no agreed option to buy. Advertisement There have been some suggestions that the Rossoneri want to make it a permanent transfer, but with the emergence of Luka Jovic, it seems more likely they will return him to Roma. The asking price for a sale would be in the region of €15m, although that also depends on whether Milan want to secure the centre-forward.
