Scouts wanted to see the FCS talent step up vs. the competition at @seniorbowl. Colts 2025 NFL draft: Highlights from Day 1 of the Senior Bowl

The first day of Senior Bowl practices are in the books, an even that has played an important role in the Indianapolis Colts' pre-draft process under GM Chris Ballard. The Senior Bowl is an All-Star showcase event for many of the top draft prospects and also provides an opportunity for smaller school players or really any prospect to get exposure and give their draft stock a bump with a strong showing. General managers and scouts from all 32 teams attend the event. Oftentimes, it is at the Senior Bowl when many talent evaluators are getting to see these prospects up close on the practice for the first time while also having the opportunity to interact with them off of it. Between 2017 and 2023, 26 of the Colts 67 draft picks during that span participated in the Senior Bowl. In last year's draft, three of Ballard's selections were a part of this event. Shrine Bowl Day 2 Notes and Winners

Day two of practices at the Shrine Bowl went down Sunday at the University of North Texas. It was another big day for some of the more intriguing prospects in this group. Here's a rundown of some notes from those in attendance Sunday. It can be tough to standout as a RB with no full tackling during all-star practices, but this was exactly what you wan to see from @GamecockFB RB Rocket Sanders 6-ft, 224 lbs. we know he can run behind the pads, but here he showed nice wiggle to cut back inside and up the field — Trevor Sikkema (@TampaBayTre) January 26, 2025 Another day, another inside spin win from @HokiesFB Antwaun Powell-Ryland Easy to see why it's a go-to of his. If OTs take their weight off their inside foot, he'll make them pay — Trevor Sikkema (@TampaBayTre) January 26, 2025 West Team has a really good stable of RBs, as they work on pass pro technique — Emory Hunt (@FBallGameplan) January 26, 2025 Some thoughts from EW Shrine practices this morning: – No surprise, Kyle McCord the best of the QB group, but Cam Miller had some good moments too. – Cobee Bryant is rail thin (171 lbs), but he made several plays on the ball in 1v1. He and Nohl Williams are the top-2 CBs here… — Dane Brugler (@dpbrugler) January 25, 2025 #Kansas CB Cobee Bryant has been the best player at the @ShrineBowl through two days. Had an interception and multiple pass breakups today. Also was chirping to the receivers in lots of drills throughout practice. Very confident player. — Jordan Reid (@Jordan_Reid) January 26, 2025 • Jordan Phillips, iDL, Maryland • Alijah Huzzie, Nickel CB, North Carolina • Elijah Roberts, EDGE, SMU • La'Johntay Wester, WR, Colorado Four prospects on the West roster that have really stood out through two days of practices at the @ShrineBowl. — Jordan Reid (@Jordan_Reid) January 26, 2025
