Motorcyclist dies after crashing into stray in Tampin

TAMPIN: A 20-year-old motorcyclist died after reportedly colliding with a stray dog that suddenly darted across the road near Kampung Parit Buloh in Air Kuning Selatan late last night. The victim, who suffered serious head injuries in the 11pm accident, was confirmed dead two hours later while receiving treatment at a health clinic. Tampin police chief Superintendent Amiruddien Sariman said the man had been en route to a burger stall when the incident occurred. He said preliminary investigations revealed the accident involved a Honda RS motorcycle ridden by the victim along an inner road in Kampung Parit Buloh. "The victim was travelling from his house in Kampung Parit Buloh to a burger stall in Taman Semarak, Air Kuning Selatan, when he crashed into a dog. "While riding along the road, the dog suddenly crossed into his path and he was unable to avoid it." Amiruddien said the impact caused the rider to lose control and was flung onto the road. He suffered severe injuries to the head. He was rushed to the Air Kuning Selatan health clinic, but was pronounced dead at 12.58am. The body has been sent to Tampin Hospital for a post-mortem today. Amiruddien said police have opened an investigation paper under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Those with information on the incident are urged to contact the Tampin Traffic Police at 06-4412502 or investigating officer Inspector Nurul Afiqah Aqwa Haslan at 013-9515011.
