Tanger Center announces shows for 2025-2026
GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The Steven Tanger Center for the Performing arts is announcing the shows that will make up their 2025-2026 season. 'Tanger Center welcomes the Triad to 'Be Our Guest' for the new season,' the Tanger Center wrote in a press release on Monday, celebrating the lineup of the First Bank Broadway 2025-26 season. The shows will include: Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: Sept. 23-28, 2025 THE WIZ: Oct. 28 – Nov. 2, 2025 THE OUTSIDERS: Dec. 9-14, 2025 SHUCKED: Jan. 27 – Feb. 1, 2026 HELL'S KITCHEN: Feb. 24 – Mar. 1, 2026 THE SOUND OF MUSIC: Mar. 10-15, 2026 KIMBERLY AKIMBO: Apr. 21-26, 2026 THE NOTEBOOK: THE MUSICAL: June 2-7, 2026 In addition to the Broadway season shows, there will be three 'Broadway 'add-ons',': BEETLEJUICE: Sept. 2-7, 2025 LES MISÉRABLES: Jan. 7-11, 2026 SIX: May 5-10, 2026 The Broadway add-ons are only available for season seat holders. 'After seeing the recent record-breaking season, we're delighted to now bring eight shows to the Triad,' said Nick Scandalios, Chief Operating Officer of the Nederlander Organization. 'It's hard to believe we're announcing our fifth season of bringing great live theatre to downtown Greensboro. We hope Triad patrons are as enchanted by this season as we have been by their support these last few years!' Bellemeade Street Parking Deck closure in Greensboro affects Tanger Center ticket holders
GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Saturday is the last day to park in the Bellemeade Street Parking Deck in downtown Greensboro off Greene Street and Elm Street. The parking garage was deemed structurally unsound last year, and the plan is to demolish it in a couple of months. With roughly 1,200 spaces, it's a popular spot for people attending shows at the nearby Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts. It's going to require some extra planning for people heading downtown, but they're not alone. Three businesses have been forced to relocate due to the planned demolition. '20 years. Some people really come for 20 years every morning,' said Dolce Aroma owner Lili Kajana. Kajana is a downtown fixture. Her quaint coffee shop is located right at the bottom of the Bellemeade Street Parking Deck. She hopes to finalize a move about a block away soon to the Center Pointe building. Two other businesses have already left. Stitch and Grace Alterations have made the move to locations on Battleground Avenue. The Bellemeade Street Parking Deck will be blocked to all traffic after the Valentine's Day weekend. 'Next week, the city will consider a demolition contract,' Greensboro Transportation Director Hanna Cockburn said. Inside the parking garage, you can see signs of age. It was built in the 80s, and some of the materials are not up to safety standards. 'That's one of the reasons that … we did our site analysis. That hadn't been done in many years,' Cockburn said. For those who frequent the shows at the Tanger Center, it's a big change. Ashley Bumgarner is a season ticket holder and loves the events at the Tanger Center. She will miss the Bellemeade Street Parking Deck. The city recommends leaving early for shows at the Tanger Center, especially as people adjust to the change. 'I loved that our parking was right there, but we'll make it work,' Bumgarner said. The Tanger Center has a map and information for those with mobility issues on their website. If you choose to park in another parking deck like the February One, Eugene Street, Greene Street or Church Street decks, pricing is on the Greensboro city's website 'parking.'
