Jordan Chiles shows off sculpted figure in jaw-dropping dress at 2025 ESPYs
Jordan Chiles set fire to the red carpet at the 2025 ESPYs with a dress that quickly drew everyone's attention on Instagram and other socials. The 24-year-old Olympic gymnast showed up in a unique beige mini dress that highlighted her sculpted build and then flared out with a playful shape. There was texture to the fabric and the neckline plunged deep. It had some strategic cutouts that helped make it one of the most talked-about fits of the evening. Chiles is known for her powerful floor routines and confident stage presence and she's exactly the same at an event like the ESPYs. The look captured attention on Twitter and in her Instagram update from Thursday, July 18, where she shared several shots of the look. At the same time Chiles had her hair slicked back and a pose that showed off her curves. The comments section filled up quickly as usual. Celebs like Taraji P. Henson and Keke Palmer dropped fire emojis and praised the gymnast's look. The SI Swimsuit official account simply said 'SPEECHLESS.' Fans flooded in with everything from admiration to playful confusion over the optical illusion created by the wide skirt. Some joked about her looking like a 'living doll' or 'action figure come to life.' Chiles didn't take home an award this time but she owned the spotlight with a presence of winner. Her appearance came around the same time as the 2025 U.S. Classic which is a major meet she isn't competing in. She's keeping her name in the spotlight even when she's not on the competition floor. Chiles has never been shy about expressing her personality through fashion and this latest moment proves she knows exactly how to work it when everyone's watching. Read More!

Taraji P. Henson to Make Broadway Debut in August Wilson Play
Taraji P. Henson and Cedric the Entertainer have signed on to co-star in a revival of August Wilson's 'Joe Turner's Come and Gone' on Broadway next spring. The production — the play's third on Broadway since 1988 — will be directed by Debbie Allen. 'Joe Turner's Come and Gone' is a part of Wilson's Century Cycle, which chronicles Black life in America with one play set in each decade of the 20th century. 'Joe Turner' is set in 1911; like most of the plays, it takes place in Pittsburgh. The drama is set in a boardinghouse peopled by migrants from the rural South who are searching, suffering and spiritual. Henson and Cedric will play the couple, Bertha and Seth Holly, who run the boardinghouse. Henson studied theater at Howard University, but her career has been spent in film ('The Curious Case of Benjamin Button') and television ('Empire'). This will be her Broadway debut as an actor; she was credited as among the producers of a 2023 Broadway play, 'Jaja's African Hair Braiding.' Cedric, a comedian who has also worked on television ('The Neighborhood'), has one previous Broadway credit; he starred in a very short-lived 2008 revival of David Mamet's 'American Buffalo.' Allen, best known as a performer and choreographer, has one previous directing credit on Broadway — she directed a 2008 revival of 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.' The 'Joe Turner' revival is being produced by Brian Moreland, who previously produced a 2022 revival of Wilson's 'The Piano Lesson,' as well as last season's production of 'Othello.' Moreland said in a statement that the show would open next spring at an unspecified Shubert theater; the rest of the cast has not yet been announced.

Jussie Smollett and his partner reveal big news about their romance... six years after 'hate crime' hoax
Jussie Smollett announced he is engaged to partner Jabari Redd via Instagram on Friday. The 43-year-old former Empire actor — whose 2021 conviction for allegedly faking a hate crime was overturned by the Illinois Supreme Court last year — shared the happy new with his 4.5 million followers in a joint post with his beau. Posting photos from the moment he got down on one knee, he wrote, 'I'll be spending my birthday with my Fiancé… He said YES,' adding a diamond ring emoji. The professional photos, snapped by @artbyalyx, showed the progression of Smollett presenting the ring, Redd's shocked expression, and the couple's subsequent embrace. Jussie's sisters Jazz and Jurnee Smollett were among the many loved ones who offered congratulatory comments. 'Screaming with tears of joy! My whole heart loves both of you. @jussiesmollett. Welcome to the family @jabariredd. ❤️❤️,' wrote Jurnee, 38. View this post on Instagram A post shared by @jussiesmollett Older sibling Jazz, 45, added, 'Yaaaass!!! Welcome to the family Jabari!!! Love y'all!! Sooooo happy for you both!' Meanwhile, his former TV mother Taraji P. Henson wrote, 'MY BABIES ❤️❤️❤️.' The happy couple is fresh off their collaboration on the film The Lost Holliday, which premiered at the 28th annual American Black Film Festival in June 2024. Starring Jabari, Jussie, Vivica A. Fox and more, it was released across select AMC theaters in September. This past May it was made available on Prime. The project is the second project Smollett directed, following 2022's B-Boy Blues. He told People last year, 'It's such a hopeful film.' 'I think that's what I really get from this film for my own life, is that it's so hopeful. It so, "Well, what is the next day going to be like? What is tomorrow going to bring me?" 'It could bring something great, it could bring you something not so great, but it's about what you do with [it].' Jussie settled his 'hate crime hoax' with the city of Chicago in May, paying $50k to charity to resolve the six-year saga. He was convicted in December 2021 for lying to police in 2019 about an alleged attack, during which he claimed two men beat him, yelled homophobic slurs and placed a noose around his neck while wearing MAGA hats. The conviction was overturned last year due to a due process violation. The City of Chicago's Law Department filed a civil lawsuit against him in 2019 to recover over $130,000 in costs incurred investigating his allegedly staged attack, after he failed to meet a city-imposed payment deadline. The case, which had stretched over six years, was put to rest by both sides through a settlement.

Taraji P. Henson Shares How Being a Parent to Son Marcell Impacts Her Career: 'I'm a Mother First'
For Taraji P. Henson, motherhood is always at the forefront of everything she does. On Monday, June 16, the Straw actress, 54, sat down with her co-stars, Sherri Shepherd and Teyana Taylor, to discuss their roles in Tyler Perry's new thriller Straw. During the conversation, the leading ladies opened up about the importance of Black women in entertainment and how motherhood impacts their career. 'I'm a mom first like before you see me on camera, before I hit my mark, i'm a mother first, so that comes with everything I do,' she began. 'There were roles that I didn't take because I'm a mom, certain scenes I wouldn't shoot because I'm a mom,' she said, before jokingly adding, 'It's changed now 'cause he grown.' Henson, who got pregnant with her son during her junior year at Howard University, added that being a mom at the start of her career helped her create separation between her job and private life. 'When I started my career, Marcell was really young, so I couldn't come home and talk about Hollywood 'cause he had to eat, we had homework and so that's what trained me to turn that switch on and off," she said. "Like as soon as I got home, Hollywood was back there." Henson moved to L.A. when her son was young to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. In her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony speech, Henson recalled moving with $700 when Marcell was only 1 year old. "I'm a mom. I have a son. When I set out on this journey, I said, 'I'll never give up because if I give up what am I teaching my son,' " she said. "I just made a promise to him, and I just said, 'I'm never gonna give up. Things are gonna be hard," she added. "He don't even remember the hard days, he remembers the house with the pool, but I just made a promise to him and when you love that deep and you make promises, you have to keep them." is now available in the Apple App Store! In 2014, he accompanied Henson to a screening of From The Rough in Hollywood, and joined his mom at the 2015 Emmy Awards. During an installment of The Jess Cagle Interview, Henson opened up about the fear she carries as a mother. "He has a really good heart," she said of her son. "It's just hard to know that the world can pick him out and turn him into a monster at any given moment." She continued, "That's what I fear, that's something that I carry — I think every Black mother does. All parents worry about their kids, but then when you see the news and you see people getting off for killing innocent children with no weapon it's like, that doesn't exempt my son."
