Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, led the Kingdom of Bahrain's delegation to the World Police Summit 2025, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, under the theme "Beyond the Badge: Envision the Next Era of Policing." The summit brought together over 300 international speakers, experts, and high-level security officials from around the globe. Lt. Gen. Al Hassan took part in a prominent panel discussion titled "Technological Transformations in the Landscape of Organised Crime," where he addressed the growing threats posed by emerging forms of crime, including cyber fraud and illicit drug trafficking. He highlighted how modern criminal networks are increasingly turning to advanced technologies such as cryptocurrencies, encrypted messaging platforms, and the dark web to bypass law enforcement surveillance and disrupt investigative processes. Emphasising the need for enhanced international cooperation, Lt. Gen. Al Hassan called for the development of robust cross-border legal frameworks and the strengthening of inter-agency trust and communication to combat transnational crime effectively. He also stressed the importance of investing in law enforcement training to keep pace with technological advances, including the adoption of artificial intelligence to support predictive policing and proactive crime prevention strategies. The Chief of Public Security outlined Bahrain's proactive initiatives in building strong community partnerships and launching youth-focused programmes aimed at protecting society from drugs, organised crime, digital fraud, and online harassment. These efforts include nationwide security awareness campaigns in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, as well as coordinated efforts with international partners. Lt. Gen. Al Hassan concluded by reaffirming the crucial role of global security coordination in addressing cross-border criminal activity. He praised the contributions of organisations such as INTERPOL and the GCC Police Authority in advancing police capabilities, sharing expertise, and strengthening regional and international security networks.

The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, recently visited the National Ambulance Centre to oversee its operations and assess the preparedness of its services. The visit was attended by the Assistant Undersecretary for Human Resources, Major-General Adel Ameen. Lt-General Al Hassan praised the unwavering support of His Excellency, Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, for the National Ambulance project. He commended the Minister's dedication to enhancing emergency medical services to ensure rapid and efficient responses to critical situations. Highlighting the significance of the National Ambulance project, the Chief noted that it was developed according to global standards, incorporating international expertise in emergency medicine. Chief of Public Security Leads Royal Academy of Police Scientific Council Meeting

Manama: Lieutenant-General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, presided over the Royal Academy of Police (RAP) Scientific Council meeting, focusing on the enhancement of security personnel training and education. According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting saw the participation of Major General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security, and Major General Fawaz Al Hassan, Commander of RAP. Lt. General Al Hassan emphasized the pivotal role of RAP in preparing security personnel to meet high standards, with continuous support from General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the RAP Board of Trustees. Lt. General Al Hassan proposed the introduction of a Master's programme in digital forensics and information analysis to strengthen security personnel capabilities. The discussions also involved the development of training courses and programmes through an electronic system, aiming to improve policing performance in line with best practices. The meeting reviewed significant achievements and projects for the year, aligning with the minister's directives. These initiatives include the establishment of a Centre for Electronic Creativity and Artificial Intelligence, a Language Centre to enhance foreign language skills, and a comprehensive training village. The academy plans to collaborate with universities to offer specialised postgraduate programmes, including doctoral studies in policing, security, crisis management, and disaster risk management. The meeting concluded with Lt. General Al Hassan expressing gratitude to the council members and the RAP administrative and faculty team for their contributions to academic and training programme development, wishing them continued success.
