Empangeni children's hospice drives vehicle fundraiser
Butterfly Palliative home in Empangeni is appealing to the community for help in reaching their goal of purchasing a pre-owned car. Butterfly is a non-profit children's hospice caring for vulnerable children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. A dedicated car is urgently needed on-site to help with hospital visits, home-based care, and to collect urgent supplies. Butterfly co-founder Tarryn Bell has made an appeal to the community to help them reach their dream goal of R100 000 for the car. 'The truth is, the situation is becoming more and more difficult. With no vehicle on-site, all patient visits, hospital trips and urgent errands are being done using our staff members' personal cars. This is placing great strain on our small team,' said Tarryn. 'We need your help to make August awesome for Butterfly home. Thank you for standing with us and the precious children we care for,' she said. Donations can be sent directly to their bank account using the reference 'WHEELS': Name: Butterfly Palliative Home Bank: FNB Business Account Account number: 63144663762 Branch: 250655 Swift Code: FIRNZAJJ Don't have the ZO app? Help KZN children's hospice fill their shelves
Help KZN children's hospice fill their shelves The Butterfly Palliative Home children's hospice based in Empangeni and Ingwavuma is reaching out for help with supplies for the young 'butterflies' in their care. They ask the community to help with groceries, essential goods – such as nappies – and basic medicine. 'Please help us fill our shelves and ensure our children have what they need. Every little helps!' requested the NGO on their social media platforms. Butterfly Home offers end-of-life care for orphaned and abandoned babies, and young children facing terminal illness. Butterfly Home's flagship facility in Ingwavuma was the first children's hospice in KZN and one of just three in South Africa. Their newly-opened Empangeni home now makes two in KZN and five in the country. Community members are welcome to drop off supplies at 1 Eland Crescent, Nyala Park, Empangeni.
