A trusted leaker just revealed when you'll get One UI 8 beta on your Galaxy S24 and S23

The One UI 7 release was quite hectic and included lots of delays, which led Samsung fans to some disappointment. In order to avoid repeating its mistakes with One UI 8, Samsung is working super hard to jump straight into it. Last month, One UI 8 was made official with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Since then, Samsung has also confirmed when the One UI 8 beta version will be extended to other devices. Currently, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has access to the One UI 8 beta since the month of May, while the Z Fold 7 , Z Flip 7 , and Z Flip 7 FE are rocking the stable One UI 8 . Now, tipster Tarun Vats has posted launch dates for specific devices. Samsung previously said that the One UI 8 beta expansion will start on August 11, but it didn't mention when each device will get access. Vats now says that the phones from the Galaxy S24 lineup will be eligible for the beta rollout starting August 13. For people rocking the slightly older Galaxy S23 phones, the beta is said to start on September 8, almost an entire month later. Hearing from sources: Samsung might roll out One UI 8 Beta on these dates • Galaxy S24 – Aug 13• Galaxy S23 – Sept 8 (±1–2 days because, well… Samsung loves surprises ) — Tarun Vats (@tarunvats33) August 7, 2025 According to the tipster, these dates may be off by a day or two, but he insists they should be more-or-less accurate. Samsung has already confirmed the beta program will be available in four regions: the U.S., the UK, South Korea, and India. Meanwhile, phones like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 are expected to also receive the update in August, potentially. The tipster didn't share dates about those. The September list includes the Fold 5, Flip 5, Galaxy A36, Galaxy A55, Galaxy A35, and Galaxy A54, a fact that was already stated by Samsung. Potentially, the stable One UI 8 update should start rolling out in September to the first batch of devices, if, of course, there aren't any unexpected delays. If you wish to join the beta, you can do so from the Samsung Members app if you're in one of the eligible regions. I personally think Samsung is really trying to get One UI 8 right this time. It's great that it's moving faster and including more devices in the beta early on. It can be a bit annoying to wait for updates, so having clearer dates helps everyone plan ahead. Hopefully, Samsung delivers on its promises.

Here's when to look for One UI 8 beta on your Galaxy S24 and S23

Ryan Haines / Android Authority TL;DR A noted tipster has suggested One UI 8 beta rollout dates for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series. The Galaxy S24 is reported to receive its One UI 8 beta update on August 13. Samsung has already confirmed that the beta updates will be live in the US, the UK, South Korea, and India. After a stretched-out transition from One UI 6 to One UI 7, Samsung jumped too quickly to the next version upgrade. and released One UI 8 last month alongside its latest foldables. So far, the stable version of One UI 8 has been limited to Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and the Flip 7 FE, while a beta for the Galaxy S25 Ultra has been underway since May. But earlier this week, Samsung officially confirmed it will extend One UI 8 beta to a host of other devices, and a leak now points to the tentative timeline for this release. Although Samsung promised to kick off its One UI 8 beta program starting next week, tipster Tarun Vats has posted launch dates for specific devices. Vats says the Galaxy S24 series will become eligible for the beta rollout on August 13. Meanwhile, the rollout for the Galaxy S23 series is expected to arrive almost a month later, on September 8. The tipster adds caution that the dates could change by a day or two because 'Samsung loves surprises.' Samsung has already confirmed the beta program will be available in four regions, including the US, the UK, South Korea, and India. While the leaker only reveals potential release dates for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series, One UI 8 beta is also expected to arrive on devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, both of which are also slated to receive the update in August. Additionally, the beta is scheduled to release in September to a longer list of devices, including Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy A36 5G, Galaxy A55 5G, Galaxy A35 5G, and Galaxy A54, as already stated by Samsung. Meanwhile, the stable One UI 8 update is expected to start rolling out to the first batch of devices in September. If you're in one of the eligible regions and have one of those devices, you will be able to apply for the update from within the Samsung Members app preinstalled on your phone. Once your request to join the beta is accepted, you will be able to download and install the latest beta on your Galaxy smartphone like a regular update. Follow

Joe Maring / Android Authority TL;DR Samsung has begun rolling out the fourth One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S25 series. The third beta is available to users in the South Korea, Germany, and India, but we expect users in the US to get the update soon. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE have launched with stable One UI 8, but the rest of Samsung's lineup still has to wait for their stable release. There's some good news for the six-month old Galaxy S25 series though, as Samsung has released One UI 8 Beta 4 for the lineup. The fourth One UI 8 beta build for the Galaxy S25 series (h/t Tarun Vats) is 1.3GB in size and has the version number S938BXXU5ZYGB/S938BOXM5ZYGB/S938BXXU5BYGB, depending on the region. This update is rolling out to users in Germany, South Korea, and India at the moment, but we expect users in the US and UK to also get the update very soon. The complete changelog isn't visible, but I could piece together the following translated changes from different images: Added emergency update feature to Samsung IMS Service: A notification or pop-up may appear asking you to agree to IMS service updates and restarts. Supports full-screen switching during video playback when using DeX. Improved Galaxy AI Reply Recommendation Feature Operation. Improved loading issues when uttering Bixby routine commands. Improved display error of quick launch icon area on lock screen. A bug when editing iNavi dashcam videos in the Gallery app has been fixed. An issue where the 'Fingerprint sensor is not responding' message was displayed on the lock screen has been fixed. A bug with outgoing calls when dialing by swiping from the contact list with the TalkBack feature enabled has been fixed. An issue with the center horizontal/vertical screen level flickering when switching from the front to the rear camera has been fixed. Software stability has been improved with updates to several applications. To enroll in the One UI 8 beta program on your Galaxy S25 series, you will need to download the Samsung Members app, sign in with your Samsung Account. If you are in an eligible region, you will see a One UI 8 Beta Program banner on the home page, which you need to click on and complete your registration. Once done, you can check for an impending update at Settings > Software update > Download and Install. Follow

Samsung launches Exynos 2500 just ahead of Unpacked — chip rumored to power Galaxy Z Flip 7

Samsung's latest chip, the Exynos 2500, is apparently ready for primetime after months of rumors that the company was struggling with production yield. Today (June 23), Samsung officially revealed the new system-on-chip, which is widely expected to power the forthcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7. The new processor is being manufactured with Samsung's 3nm Gate All Around (GAA) node, which is expected to improve efficiency. The smaller node should reduce the chip thickness compared to the Exynos 2400, thereby improving heat dissipation. The CPU features a 10-core design with a 1+7+2 arrangement, as described by Samsung. Samsung claims 15% higher performance. It also features a Cortex-X925 core that runs at 3.3GHz, two Cortex-A275 cores at 2.74GHz and five more at 2.36GHz. In general, this appears to be a bit faster than the older Exynos. Beyond that, the new AMD-based GPU should be faster, especially when it comes to ray-tracing-enabled games. Samsung is promoting its AI capabilities, and it does offer up to 59 TOPS, about 39% more than the 2400. It should enable more AI features to work or improve on future Samsung devices. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. This includes AI-based image processing for sensors up to 320MP, more than enough for the lenses Samsung has been putting in its own phones. You can record at 8K resolution up to 30 fps in video. One big upgrade is to the modem, which is built-in. It now has support for non-terrestrial networks, which means phones using the Exynos 2500 could access satellite messaging. The 5G modem is coupled with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. Samsung also claims that the analog GNSS interface (GPS-related) has been improved. A couple of days before this announcement, leaker Tarun Vats posted a new Geekbench benchmark that purported to show a device running an Exynos 2500 processor with 12GB of RAM. In that test, the chip scored 2356 points in single-core and 8076 points in multi-core. For comparison, in our testing of the Galaxy S25 base model, which features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, it scored 2,916 and 9,886, respectively. The 2500 scores do outperform Google's Tensor G4, used in the Pixel 9 Pro, by quite a bit. Where we might see gains in the Exynos 2500 compared to previous years, especially in the Galaxy Z Flip 7, is in heat dissipation. We saw a number of complaints online that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Z Flip 6 overheated quickly on the clamshell phone. Presumably, the heat dissipation of the new Exynos 2500 will be much better, making it last longer without worry of overheating. As mentioned, we believe the Exynos 2500 will feature in the Galaxy Z Flip 7, regular Samsung leaker Ice Cat confirmed as much recently. It could also show up in the rumored cheaper Z Flip 7 FE.

This Galaxy Z Fold 7 dummy puts its ultra-thin design into perspective

TL;DR A new YouTube video shows a Galaxy Z Fold 7 dummy model based on leaks and rumors, giving our best look yet at the expected design. The video shows the foldable's slim profile, with side-by-side comparisons showing how much thinner it is than the Fold 6. The dummy also illustrates the switch to a punch-hole camera and a larger outer display. We're just weeks away from Samsung's next Unpacked event, but a new mockup is offering our clearest look yet at what to expect from the Galaxy Z Fold 7 physically. A TheSINZA YouTube video, shared on X by tipster Tarun Vats, gives us a close-up of a physical dummy unit of the foldable. To be clear, this isn't an official Samsung product. As the video notes, the dummy model was made in China and is based on publicly available rumors and renders. Still, it aligns with recent leaks we've seen, including the switch from an under-display camera to a punch-hole, a larger cover screen, and Samsung's focus on shedding both thickness and weight this generation. The Z Fold 7 dummy clocks in at just 9mm thick when folded, noticeably slimmer than the 12.1mm Fold 6 when compared in the video. When unfolded, it's said to be around 4.5mm thick, aligning with the rumored thickness. There's also a 6.5-inch outer screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio, which would make it more comfortable for one-handed use than earlier Folds. The video also cites a rumored weight of just 215g, which would make it lighter than both the Fold 6 (239g) and even the Galaxy S25 Ultra (218g). However, this looks to be speculation on the creator's part, as we have not spotted any leaks revealing this figure. Internally, the video lists the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy as the processor. That matches recent FCC filings, which also point to the inclusion of Wi-Fi 7, ultra-wideband, and wireless/reverse wireless charging. Samsung has described the Fold 7 as its 'thinnest, lightest, and most advanced foldable yet.' If this dummy model is a relatively accurate depiction of the final hardware, we're excited to get our hands on it. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ .
