Saudi Arabia To Showcase Culinary Heritage At Taste Of Paris 2025
Saudi Arabia, through its Culinary Arts Commission, will participate in the prestigious Taste of Paris event from May 8 to 11, 2025, presenting a dedicated pavilion titled 'Taste of Saudi Culture' to highlight the Kingdom's rich and diverse gastronomic heritage. As one of 11 sector-specific bodies under the Ministry of Culture, the Culinary Arts Commission will feature live cooking stations and tastings alongside three immersive heritage-inspired spaces. Each room draws from distinct elements of Saudi tradition: the desert and central region architecture; the serenity of oases and vibrancy of traditional markets; and the warmth of the Saudi majlis, recognized by UNESCO since 2015 as intangible cultural heritage. The interactive experience will include sensory games, tastings, and gustatory illusions designed to engage visitors and deepen their appreciation for Saudi cuisine. Dates, a key symbol of Saudi culinary culture, will be the central ingredient across the pavilion's offerings. Dishes include a modern twist on Jareesh, lamb with date molasses, Balilah, date-infused ice cream, ricotta and date kunafah, and French desserts reimagined with Saudi flavors. Visitors will also explore curated pairings of Saudi date varieties with cheeses and sample Saudi coffee in both traditional and innovative forms.

Information provided to Yahoo Canada from Skyscanner revealed that there has been a 29-per-cent increase in flight bookings from Canadian cities to the destination over the last month. According to the 2025 Skyscanner Travel Trends report, 71 per cent of travellers highlighted that they particularly enjoy taking in the beauty of local gardens on vacation. Perfectly fitting for that trend, Paris has some of the best gardens in the world, including Jardin du Luxembourg, Jardin des Tuileries, and Parc des Buttes-Chaumont. The Culinary Arts Commission will showcase the diversity of Saudi culture and gastronomy with a pavilion featuring live cooking stations and tasting, along with three rooms inspired by Saudi heritage, offering visitors a unique, traditional, and immersive experience. These three spaces will invite guests on a sensory journey across several themes: the desert and the architecture of the Kingdom's central region; the tranquility of the oasis and the vibrant atmosphere of traditional Saudi markets; and the warm conviviality of the traditional Saudi majlis, inscribed since 2015 on the UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Engaging activities will be incorporated into each space to stimulate the visitors' senses, including observation games, tasting experiences, and playful gustatory illusions. This year, dates, a symbol of Saudi Arabia's culinary heritage, will be the main ingredient featured in the dishes offered at the pavilion. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn more about the Kingdom's diverse varieties of dates and discover delicious pairings of dates with different cheeses. The pavilion also offers visitors a unique tasting experience featuring traditional Saudi coffee presented with creative twists, as well as other coffee beverages infused with dates.
