On Aug. 11, the Portuguese soccer star, 40, and Argentinian model, 31, announced their engagement after eight years of dating with an Instagram post starring the bride-to-be's new diamond sparkler, which is so massive in size, it became instant breaking news.
Although details of the eye-catching rock have yet to be revealed by the engaged couple and their jeweler, experts worldwide have already put their bets on everything from the ring's cost to exactly what and how many diamonds were used to create the mountain of gemstones.
Tobias Kormind, the managing director over at 77 Diamonds in London, believes Rodriguez's blinding accessory to be worth approximately 35 carats — and that's just the oval center stone alone. He believes that the massive stunner is flanked by oval sides stones set in platinum, which he estimates are about one carat each, setting the ring at a nice 37 carats.
The ring's grandeur size, for Kormind, ranks high alongside the famous Taylor-Burton Diamond, a 69.42 carat pear shape stone gifted to Elizabeth Taylor by Richard Burton, who reportedly bought it from Cartier, who bought the rarity for over $1 million at auction. Kormind believes that Rodriguez's ring has a $5 million price tag.
Laura Taylor, engagement ring specialist at Lorel Diamonds, describes Rodriguez's rock as "extraordinary," boasting what she believes to be an oval-cut diamond ranging between 15 to 20 carats.
"Oval cuts are known for their brilliant faceting, which maximizes sparkle and gives the stone a bright, lively appearance from every angle," Taylor says.
Taylor also predicts that the stone is flanked by substantial side stones to make the main event "look even larger" and that everything is set on platinum for "security" and color enhancement.
'If the diamond is natural and of exceptional quality in the D-F color range with flawless or near-flawless clarity, its value could easily exceed around $2 million," she adds.
The conversation isn't just being had among industry experts. Jewelry aficionado turned social media content creator, Julia Chafe, posted a video right after her "everything shower" to discuss the groundbreaking ring in detail with her 859,000 followers.
Chafe — who has discussed everything from Indian billionaire Isha Ambani's outstanding Met Gala jewelry, including the rare Cartier Toussaint necklace, to Cardi B's $13,000 butt crack ring — estimated Rodriguez's ring to cost up to $3 million, thanks to what she thinks is a 35-carat shape oval D Flawless diamond. "If there's anything we know about Georgina, she's not here to F around," said Chafe.

True to her brand, Chafe didn't hold back her commentary on Rodriguez's larger-than-large diamond either. "To wear this stone regularly, you're going to need finger reconstruction surgery. Just imagine wearing a 100-pound kettlebell on your finger all day, everyday. Painful but worth it," she joked.
While we patiently wait for Rinaldo to spill all the details on how he went ring shopping, we can look back at his and Rodriguez's and love story, which began in 2017 when they confirmed their relationship, and their family.
The two share twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 8; daughter Alana, 7; daughter Bella, 3; and 15-year-old son Cristiano Jr., whom Ronaldo welcomed in a previous relationship. He and Rodriguez previously announced the death of Bella's newborn twin brother, Ángel, in April 2022.
