More info Amanda Holden has finally put to rest a bizarre rumour that has been circulating for over 20 years, following her split from husband Les Dennis. The Britain's Got Talent judge married Les, who is 18 years her senior, in 1995, but their whirlwind romance ended in 2002. Their breakup was marred by reports of Amanda's alleged affair with her co-star Neil Morrissey, and amidst the fallout, a rumour emerged that Les had found solace in the arms of none other than legendary singer Diana Ross. However, Amanda has now set the record straight, revealing that the woman in question was actually her friend Jane Wall, an actress who was living in her house at the time. "I hate to bring it up, but when I was going through a divorce, my friend Jane Wall, who is a mixed-race actress, was living in my house," Amanda explained on the Tea at Four podcast. So that was hilarious." Jane, who was mistaken for Diana, is a familiar face from her role as Detective Inspector Di Worrell in ITV soap The Bill. At the time of the rumour, Jane remained tight-lipped about the confusion, while Les spoke out in 2004, dismissing the claim as "particularly ridiculous", reports the Mirror. Amanda found her happily ever after with Chris Hughes, tying the knot in 2008, and together they have two daughters, Lexi and Hollie. She is now at the helm of Netflix's latest offering, Cheat: Unfinished Business – a gripping series aiding eight former couples torn apart by infidelity. Tasked with revisiting their relationship issues at an opulent retreat, the ex-partners receive assistance from Married At First Sight UK's relationship guru Paul C. Brunson. Even with her own past indiscretions, Amanda confessed difficulty in staying impartial while engaging with the show's participants. On the One Show, she revealed: "Oh my God it was very hard for me to sit on the fence." (Image: Mirrorpix) (Image: Variety via Getty Images) (Image: Getty Images) Amanda described her role on the show as akin to an auntie, remarking: "I would be the auntie and pop in and out. Try to be not judging, we all make mistakes, there are people who have made bad choices,". The experience has also unexpectedly enriched her own marriage, as Amanda highlighted: "I was in awe of Paul's advice because it's so brilliant and succinct. You can listen to it all day." In a light-hearted comment, she added: "So I was really nice to Chris when he came out to filming." Addressing the core issue of the show, she clarified: "It (cheating) is a sensitive topic and I think it's a topic everyone can understand. It's about good people who have made bad choices." Detailing the impact of unresolved feelings, she added: "Some of those people haven't had the answer for 10 years. So, it was amazing to be part of that process and to witness the truth coming out."

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has decided to settle a very wild rumour about her time with first husband Les Dennis following their split in 2002 Amanda Holden has settled a very baffling rumour following her split from husband Les Dennis over 20 years ago. The Britain's Got Talent judge tied the knot with Les, who is 18 years her senior, back in 1995. They had a whirlwind romance, with Amanda aged just 24 at the time. However, their romance wasn't meant to be as it all came crashing down at the end of 2002. It came two years after reports Amanda had been having an affair with her co-star Neil Morrissey. Amid her fallout with Family Fortunes host Les, a rumour started that he had "found comfort" with legendary singer Diana Ross. Now over two decades later, Amanda has settled the rumour once and for all. 'I hate to bring it up, but when I was going through a divorce, my friend Jane Wall, who is a mixed-race actress, was living in my house," she said on the Tea at Four podcast. 'We were helping her, she was living there basically so she could save up for a mortgage, and it [reports] said, my then-husband was being 'comforted by Diana Ross'. So that was hilarious.' Jane, who was mistaken for Diana, is famed for playing Detective Inspector Di Worrell ITV soap The Bill. At the time of the rumour, Jane was still working on The Bill and never commented on the confusion between her and Diana, who has no known connection to Les. However former Coronation Street Les star did speak out about the incident back in 2004 as he said the claim was 'particularly ridiculous'. Amanda went on to find love with her husband Chris Hughes, who she has been married to since 2008. They welcomed two daughters together - Lexi and Hollie. The TV star is the face of new Netflix show, Cheat: Unfinished Business, which sees her help eight ex-couples who have separated due to cheating. Each pair has to reunite at a luxury retreat, where they will confront the cracks in their partnership, counselled by Married At First Sight UK's relationship expert Paul C. Brunson. Despite her own infidelity, Amanda admitted she found it hard to not be judgmental about the couples on the new show. In a candid confession, she said on the One Show: "Oh my God it was very hard for me to sit on the fence. "I would be the auntie and pop in and out. Try to be not judging, we all make mistakes, there are people who have made bad choices," she added. Amanda even admitted she has felt the benefits of the show as it has made her own relationship even stronger. She said: 'I was in awe of Paul's advice because it's so brilliant and succinct. You can listen to it all day.' Joking, she added: 'So I was really nice to Chris when he came out to filming." Amanda continued: "It (cheating) is a sensitive topic and I think it's a topic everyone can understand. It's about good people who have made bad choices. "Some of those people haven't had the answer for 10 years. So, it was amazing to be part of that process and to witness the truth coming out.'

In the fallout of their relationship, false rumours surfaced that Les had 'found comfort' with legendary soul singer, Diana Ross. Speaking of the bizarre incident, Amanda told the Tea at Four podcast: 'I hate to bring it up, but when I was going through a divorce, my friend Jane Wall, who is a mixed-race actress, was living in my house. Jane Wall is most famed for playing Detective Inspector Di Worrell on smash-hit ITV cop soap The Bill, but has since been seen on shows including Grey's Anatomy, Ghost Whisperer, and The OA. At the time of the accusation, she was still working on The Bill, and she's never commented about being confused for the iconic Supremes singer, who has always lived in the US and has no known connection to the Coronation Street star. However, Les has previously spoken out about the incident, saying in a 2004 interview with the Independent the claim was 'particularly ridiculous'. Since her split from Les, Amanda found love with husband Chris Hughes, and the couple have been married since 2008. Together the pair have two daughters – Lexi, born in 2006, and Hollie, born in 2012. Speaking on the concept of the series, Amanda said: 'If the trust's been broken, you have to repair the trust, and that can be tough." Just a week after the show's release, the series has already been lined-up for a second season. A TV insider said: 'Netflix knows she is in huge demand and wants to make sure that if a second series gets commissioned, she is available to take the reins once more. 'There was always the hope Cheat had the potential for a sequel, but since it dropped it's got a great response so another season is a no-brainer. 'But in the current climate where competition is fierce, particularly among dating shows, these decisions can go either way. Producers of the show are confident, however.'
